ParticipantGreat fata-morgana George. Never saw something like that. The right conditions are rare. I assume you already checked atoptics for an explanation? Thanks for sharing.

ParticipantI am glad you are back Laurence. I missed your contributions to the Forum. Anyway I hope you are doing well now.
Great APOD to share. This picture reminded me of one in the gallery and I found it. It is dated the 24th of January 20o6 from the same photographer. Magnificent picture anyway. Here is the link: Mammatus over Nebraska
It is funny to see the same situation pop up 13 years later.

ParticipantSorry for the late reply. For too long no contrail. Yes Keelin, I see the cloud is making an impression at least on me. To me it seems a hummingbird (on the wire?).

ParticipantVery funny Keelin, this Cloud Cloud Muncher. Meanwhile I found another over here breathing out to warm his or her hands.

ParticipantLove the frothiness on your former one Keelin. I hope to see it arrive over here. And the fone facing the setting sun has marvelous light play. In between these beauties a massive cauliflower mountain over Arizona. Certainly an impressive one Michael.

ParticipantThanks for sharing the links Keelin. Great to see the book A Cloud A Day listed first.
I think it is a very nice gesture by Gavin to let some moderators of the Cloudspoter app – and also a Cloudspotter app user – talk about what fascinates them in clouds. Nature’s best poetry indeed. Many thanks and compliments to Gavin!

ParticipantRays and tree branches seem to mirror each other Keelin. Very nice.
About mirroring… just a few hours ago this evening. Taken with my phone.

ParticipantHa, I like the details of an asperitas sky Michael.

ParticipantThat is a really nice Snautzer Michael and a happy one as well. You do surprise me with this pareidolic one. Love it.
Next one would have done well in the Waves thread you once started, but seems to be sleeping at the moment.

ParticipantLove your playing with the rules Michael in #723. It forced Keelin to let the cloud ghosts rise up. Another play with rules I think. In next one rules are involved again.

ParticipantHaha, the characters are welcome Keelin!
Here is another character.

ParticipantA very beautiful river of gold Keelin. It must make cloudless days worth while waiting for this one.
