A very Happy New Year one and all…….It is a grey day over the Lincolnshire Wolds UK. ..Not too spectacular and quite featureless, but it is cloud cover, and we love it, and still prefer it to a blue sky..:+)..

Cloud of the month for June by Gavin..
It was the density and brightness of them that intrigued me, as seen on some of those…..Excellent info and imagery, thanks Hans….
Yes agree Hans would be good to come up with something lets keep digging!!
Just read this
“On June 9th noctilucent clouds were spotted in California, as far south as 33 °N – a new record! Combined with the historic June 21st outbreak, this is certainly the most active NLC season on record”.
Thank you Michael and Hans, not sure, but this was likely to have been the most widespread outbreak of noctilucent clouds ever observed over Europe, it certainly was the most impressive and extensive display I have ever witnessed in my neck of the woods or anywhere…Lets hope for more to come…
A nice cloudy day over Lincolnshire, UK.
On behalf of Hans….
This is quite a thorough study of the behavior of clouds Eric. Nice to read your interpretations and thanks for sharing. I am not sure that my Salad Servers you mentioned are what you think they are. It was a rather altocumulus lenticular sky (so to speak) from which the Salad Servers are cut out. Nevertheless I will keep in mind your considerations looking up and searching for possible Horseshoes.
