Hans StockerParticipantWow, ‘Shed Some Light’ is a marvelous continuation of some crepusculars, Ruth. Love it.

French Sunset Unnumbered
Hans StockerParticipantGreat capture Keelin. I may be not really fond of contrails in general but when they don’t disturb a nice cloudscape I agree with you about their variation. Then they add their own enchantment to the sky. When the Crow started the first thread with contrails I could not imagine the fun with them yet. Now I do and your Minimally Tethered is a marvelous example.

A Kite?
Hans StockerParticipantThanks and nice Beacon of light, Ruth. And great blues to greys Michael like Ruth mentioned. To be continued..

Drifting By
Hans StockerParticipantThis is a really stunning timelapse, Airhead58. I can imagine this is quite an event to witness. The close up of the noctilucent waves is incredible. Thanks for sharing here!
Hans StockerParticipantI am so happy you found a Sky Duster Vacuum Attachment to clean up the mess these untamable dragons made, Keelin. Ingenious and hilarious! There will be more cleaning to do I fear because this little puppy will awake a seemingly very large dragon when he is not careful enough with its tail.

Hans StockerParticipantThe variety of colors and scenery is so great in this thread. It is a joy to scroll through over and over again.

A Bit Deceiving
Hans StockerParticipantHe is certainly puzzled by this view on your Moon Catcher Keelin and he fears for the moon. He fantasizes he sees Treebeard, the ent (the moon being his gentle eye).

Hans StockerParticipantThanks for sharing this Laurence. Incredible phenomenon!

Hans StockerParticipantVery subtle and nice composition Michael with Arizona Color #825.

Some Over The Edge
Hans StockerParticipantKeelin, I see clearly left under the sun the bright colors you mention but also colors that surround the sun. This seems to me to be iridescence. It often shows rather close to the sun. A ring around the sun is the corona which is basically the same effect as iridescence. The corona might have been better visible with the naked eye (always be careful to protect your eyes looking in the direction of the sun!) but is difficult to capture with too much back-light from the sun and thus might be much less visible on the picture being drowned in the whites of the sun. This is what atoptics says about it:
Does that makes sense?
Hans StockerParticipantAnd ……. thank you Keelin. I can see the puppy and the two-headed dragon as well. It is indeed the mood that influences the perception. I hope you are in a good mood since I can’t make that up from your silly words. Can’t believe it.

Hans StockerParticipantThis gentle sundog caught my eye at sunset lately in France.
