Patricia L KeelinParticipantAnother gorgeous photo from you, Catherine! Thank you for sharing it with us.
A few days ago. I was lucky to catch a very subtle “smile” (near top of photo) in the mid-morning skies over Napa. This CZA moved quickly along, but held me motionless for the duration of its appearance. I’ll post a closer look on the Optical Phenomenon topic which is devoted to such wonders. Many amazing images on that thread!

Patricia L KeelinParticipantI can see why that cloud caught your eye, Roma. You made the most impressive photo of it with that perspective.
And beautiful drama captured in #713, Michael. Exquisite lighting. Wow!
And thank you, Hans, for kind comments further up. Cloudplay is inspiring! The wind certainly knows how to do it.
The Whim Of The Wind
Patricia L KeelinParticipantBlimey, Hans, love those Drips! (as well as your very amusing title).
And Michael, what a portrait of cloud magnificence! Also, so right you are about B&W photography taking the eye to new sights.
So beware, Ling! This is the forum topic that first drew me in—and it has never let loose. I hope you’ll try it out and join us here with images from your home skies.
Anything Can Happen
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWow, Catherine, your photos are beautiful and evocative! Do you have formal training in the arts? They show a keen eye for composition. And what type of camera do you use? Thank you for posting them on the forum, and hope to see more images from you in the future.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYou’ve captured the sweet sense of serenity, Ling. Thank you for sharing this! A warm welcome to the forum and hope to see more from you.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAh! Degas! Thank you, Michael. And fantastic textures in your two above.
Echo Chamber
Patricia L KeelinParticipantDelighted to know you enjoyed the whimsical Wind tale, Hans. And who knows what may follow in the tailwind? Always room for Dragons, of course!
Below, a trio of myth-tical creatures, two of whom made their first appearance in the B&W thread awhile back. They may each have a story to tell, especially that last one. And no doubt your impressive fellow above would be most welcome to join in their fiery fun.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantFantastic sprites, Laurence! The image made my eyes open wide in utter astonishment. Thank you for posting the link.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLovely idea, Hygge. Truly inspiring!

A Bit Of This And That
Patricia L KeelinParticipantooh, horizontal, vertical, a blend of both… all very nice compositions.
Served With The Tiniest Sliver Of Moon
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAs usual, Hans, your title Don’t You Dare… had me grinning in anticipation before I found the image on the forum. Very funny! As for your sleek jet above, I think I’ve taken a ride on it into the world of story-inspiring cloud scenes. At least to my eye, the image below seemed to tell this one…

A creature with the head of a small ram is having a Very Big Hair Day. A petite cloud girl has stopped by to ask: Who does your magnificent do? Feeling complimented, he thanks her warmly and admits: I see my stylist friend every day or so.
Then he begins to show her a copy of DONE WITH THE WIND written by that very friend, who turns out to be none other than the famous cloud coiffurist Aeolus! She is impressed and considers making an appointment with him.
But in the next moment, just as the book is cracked open, a very strong breeze flies out. Her own hair takes on a whole new look. Fortunately, there is a sock puppet on the end of his outstretched arm ready to catch her should she be totally blown away.
