Hans StockerParticipantArizona color #102: cool and soft! It is all simplicity and quiessence. Love it Michael.
Here is strange one. I suppose perspective and shadowing do misleading tricky things with the way we observe this.

Barred
Hans StockerParticipantVery seductive Skylashes Keelin. Great composition. Love it.
Hans StockerParticipantNice iridescence and rainbow, Keelin and George.
The sky produced this smile for them!

Hans StockerParticipantLove the birds on the wire Michael. Great capture (and also others by the way).

Slightly Transparent
Hans StockerParticipantWhat a beauties to find over here Keelin (You Are Here, And Now?, Carapace, wow!) and Michael ( B&W #150, #151, #153, wow!). Interesting to read about fullframe system camera’s too.

Sweeps
Hans StockerParticipantHead of the class: I am glad to be able again to attend to the class of pareidolia after some leave.
A friendly Imp, a Genie of the Woods by George and fantastic animals by Mischa playing around with the ones Keelin spotted. Love it all.
By the way: Plein-Air or Plain-Air is a fantastic and ingenious title for a picture I really had to study a while Keelin. Can the head of the class agree with a resemblance to a elegant horned creature? Once seen….
I spotted Grumpy on my travels and I did not succeed to cheer him up despite all of the fun on this thread. Unbelievable.

Hans StockerParticipantGreat explanation Michael. Many thanks for pointing this out. I would easily have classified it as lacunosus myself, but you must be right. The difficulty is that not only the appearance needs to comply with the classification but also the process by which it is formed and unfortunately the process itself is not visible, just the result of it. There is a lot of experience involved imho.
The resemblance to a B&W in thread X called ‘Ragged’ is striking btw. Now I know what it is!
And I suppose also a later one in the same thread with the name ‘Drifting’.
Hans StockerParticipantHilarious …. What an amazing initiative this pop-up quiz is, Keelin! How could one ever expect this? The class is flabbergasted and already desperately seeking for an answer. Although I delivered the Key To Pareidolia, I am not sure that´s a guarantee for me to unlock this puzzle you presented.
In my surroundings someone suggested a standing mouse, while I see this baby elephant conducting an orchestra. Does this makes sense? I doubt it.
The timing of the start of this course maybe wrong for me or just right. That’s because I will leave the class already at the start for somewhat less than two weeks having no appropriate internet, but on the other hand that will give me the opportunity to do some extra study and come up with another pareidolic response.
Can’t wait……
Hans StockerParticipantHi George, thanks for answering. I was just curious about your opinion about the supposed castellanus. Your answer surprises me. I will think about it and continue to watch out for other occasions. Maybe this discussion about contrail seems a bit far fetched, but first of all fun while studying all kind of appearances of this homogenitus kind of cloud.
My thoughts about contrail seemed to have undergone a bit of the same evolution like your thoughts. First I thought of it as a nuisance polluting the scenery in the sky, but since Alec started a contrail thread I got interested in it for its own beauty and abstract figures they can form. Still not always beautiful, but nevertheless more than I held as possible.
I did not play with focus btw. The picture with the plane is taken with a 1000th to avoid unsharpness by movement and the tele was supported just by the windowsill (although I have a tripod when necessary). I also take pictures this way without support of anything when using the 400 mm. Seems to work well enough.
To be continued.
Hans StockerParticipantI am curious for George´s opinion on the former picture with the supposed castellanus. Now one without plane.

Hans StockerParticipantThe first picture is for more than one reason well chosen Hygge. It fits perfectly his abstract notes and lyricism. Very nice tribute!
Hans StockerParticipantPlunging in the deep and surfacing in this gentle current is a pleasure Keelin.

Playing Waves
Hans StockerParticipantVery imaginitive Keelin. I think they must have taken a pause..

Hans StockerParticipantLove it Keelin, very funny. The trimming is giving a picturesque mess of curly flakes.

The Key To Pareidolia
