In my former post I forgot to mention Breaching by Keelin. Breaching, that is exactly what it is. But Windy Night On The High Seas is even more what the title says. It must be a ultra-violate version of a masterpiece by Turner!

I see above the fallstreak in #305 thehead of a dog, a labradot to be specific. Anyway a nice composition. As is the one from the gathering in Colorado by Keelin.

Here is one taken with the cloudspotter app at the former asperitas event.

For too long no contrails. That´s no good. I love Hanging By A  Thread Keelin. Very funny and creative. And Linear Thinking is ingenious. Great to see them both again and it helps me to remind the fun of this thread for sure.

Your capture of the Tooth Fairy tells a true fairytale Keelin. We can watch her doing her good works. And although the Tooth Fairy does not matter to whom the tooth belonged, I think I found the creature that might have lost one of his or hers teeth and it might also be the one that is related to the species of which I found the backbone……

Congrats Danunosus. You even captured it in a time-lapse! Although shaky, you got it. When you had go get indoors you would have missed it I suppose.

I did not found any explanation (yet) for the recent outbreak of noctilucent clouds Ian. I just found this link with a description of where and when they were visible until now ending with a mass of excellent pictures worthwhile to watch.

    Historic outbreak noctilucent clouds

What a great find this Diplodocus Fossil Keelin. An amazing and brilliant composition with its contrast like the fossil is imprinted in the background! And indeed Stuttttering is in place in this thread for its fine texture. More than enough to carry for a Dream Horse I´d think. An enchanting image is Dream Horse.

And also enchanting is Arizona Black & White #839 Michael. It has a mysterious feel. Love it.

Some nice colors from you both Keelin and Michael. Love the Stuff Of Fluff from Keelin and #639 from Michael.

Here is one taken yesterday with the telephone.

Thanks Ian. I am amazed about the latitudes it has been observed. Checking atoptics on this you will find:

The short summer nights of latitudes of 50 – 65° reveal the highest clouds – noctilucent or ‘night shining’ clouds.” and “NLCs are seen further south. They have been sighted in Europe as far south as Austria, Hungary, Italy and southern Germany. In the US they have been seen in Utah and Colorado.

I understand that records are set with this outbreak. I am very curious whether there is any explanation for this.

Wonderful Ian. I suppose something will be terribly wrong with the weather – much more than there already is – when noctilucent shows up in Phoenix Michael :)

Last weekend noctilucent was seen in large parts of northern Europe. Might there be any connection with the extreme warm weather now on the continent?

Thanks for sharing Laurence. A great example high in the air where the rays meet at one antisolar point.

Simply amazing Michael these observations together with the smooth and elegant asperitas-like lines in the cloud formation. A fantastic catch so to speak with your digital fishing line!
