Hans StockerParticipantWell here is certainly a party going on here, to start with your party-poppers Keelin. Great smiles also. The last two make me wonder what you spotted. Assuming the pictures are rotated on their left side I suppose these are the same smiles as before?
I hope sincerely you are going well in California despite the fire disasters over there?
I have been a bit absent but yesterday I had the opportunity to spot some nice colorful sundogs. This one is not dangerous but still ..

A Harmless Ball Of Fire
Hans StockerParticipantThe colors are great Michael. With the forelast picture you mentioned a brush fire in the desert. The last few days I saw dramatic images of the fires in California on the news over here. Is this something of which you can observe the consequences in Arizona? I hope for Keelin she and her surroundings are not suffering from the chaos and danger these enormous fires cause.
Hans StockerParticipant#713 is magical Michael. Great colors and dramatic cloudscape with mamma.
Hans StockerParticipantWell I expect you won’t regret checking more threads. You might be surprised.
Hans StockerParticipantHello Eric, very nice. Have you noticed the special Asperitas thread on this forum? It is worthwhile checking it.
Here is what I spotted in Leiden the same day after having seen also distant asperitas in Haarlem. On the weather forecast of the prime time news on NPO1 a picture was showed of asperitas. They didn’t mention the name asperitas but named it “wavy clouds”. Maybe to make the weather forecast not too nerdy? Don’t know.

Hans StockerParticipantLots of great flowing asperitas Michael.

Another one from France last year
Hans StockerParticipantNice to share this video George. Great to see these patterns develop in the slipstream of planes. The circles reminded me of some bubbles I once captured and used in of he earlier B&W threads.

Bubbles Revisited
Hans StockerParticipantWelcome Ling. I saw you picture taken in your home town. Very nice. I hope you like the B&W’s in this thread like I do and also hope you will join us.
I love #160 Michael. It seems to have depth like clouds and earth seen from above. And for Echo Chamber I can hear the echoing like it can be seen, Keelin
For this one I used too much paint.

Blimey, Drips!
Hans StockerParticipantNice color-work Michael in #427.
Like you said in the purple thread the coloring is a matter of minutes. In next case I was a bit too late but still had the opportunity to catch this.

October 10, 2019 at 1:22 pm in reply to: Red Sprite lightning in high definition – marvellous capture! #373462
Hans StockerParticipantThank you Laurence for sharing. This one must certainly be taken by elite photographers with excellent gear. Such detail and sharpnes…. It shows how a sprite looks like in detail. Until now I only have seen pictures of undifferentiated short lines of red light. This picture shows a complete network of tiny lines. Amazingly beautiful abstract art.
Hans StockerParticipantAbsolutely ingenious Keelin. You defined a new category of Clouds-that-look-like-stories and you read them so perfectly. Also very funny and I love it.
Next one must be the dragon in some tale but I don’t know how to fit this fiery beast in your gentle story. Maybe he just peacefully listened to you while heating up the air a bit without any purpose.

A Careful But Still Fiery Yawn Of A Listening Dragon From Some Different Tale
Hans StockerParticipantGreat initiative Hygge. Very nice.
with regards, Hans
Hans StockerParticipantMichael, did your cirrus fireworks (#159) grew out of here
?
Hans StockerParticipant
Spongy
Hans StockerParticipantYes Michael the timing matters. The light and colors change quickly while watching and every day is different. Nice spectacle!
