Hans StockerParticipantHere’s another one of the same series with a bit of extra saturation to emphasize the supernumeraries of the primary bow.

Hans StockerParticipantHello Linda, what a beautiful pictures of an extraordinary cloud scenery with strange colors! Why not submit one to the gallery? For sure Ian will classify these clouds with more certainty than I can and maybe even with an explanation.
Nevertheless I give it a try and to me the straight lines of clouds seem to be altocumulus undulatus, but with an extreme length and straightness. I think that is the intriguing part for which you like to have any suggestions. Unfortunately no clue from me. Who else?
Hans StockerParticipant
And then there was this bridge….
Hans StockerParticipantYour B&W ‘s are all so lovely different Michael. From mystical (#97) to graphical (#59) and from sharp (#61) to vague smooth structures (#81).
This bird needs no net.

Free Flight
Hans StockerParticipantThank you Keelin for kind words. It is nice to know you like my pictures. And so do I like yours as well. No need to be modest about them at all, I should say. Your Disappearing Act is great having a shadow cast just in line with the trail itself. And being in the neighborhood of lot of air traffic might be an advantage in finding nice situations with contrail, but these trails can also spoil the scenery very well. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. Be sure some day Crow shows up.

High Over

Dutch Colour (unnumbered)
Hans StockerParticipant
Old Man revisited in blue
Hans StockerParticipantImpressionistic indeed Keelin. The whites seem to melt into the blues. Love it.
To continue on the soft touch but in a different way …

Ghostscape
Hans StockerParticipant
…. and wiping the trail out wasn’t very successful
Hans StockerParticipantNice composition on Arixzona Cloudscape #29 indeed, Michael.
Keelin, you make me puzzle what you see in my chaos. I tried and maybe I found what you saw and what I did not see before, but let’s leave it unsure…. because once seen can’t be unseen.
I understand your disappointment not being able to attend to the presentation by Gavin. Truly bad luck. I hope for you there is nothing more inconvenient about it and I also hope you found solace in your own Tidal Wonders. There is also this interview on KQED Radio in San Francisco with Gavin you can listen to. You find the link in the topic “What Clouds Can Teach Us” on the home page, but maybe you already noticed.

Just a poor attempt to cheer you up
Hans StockerParticipantLike you I had to do it with ethereal Keelin. The material was already gone and all I got was charcoal all over. No that’s not true, I also have the pictures.

Hans StockerParticipantFunny find and great Balancing Act, Keelin. A real joy. Maybe this will ease the nerves.

A Safety Net
Hans StockerParticipantSteamy Arizona Color Michael.
Looking left from where I took my former color picture more clearly asperitas.

French Asperitas
Hans StockerParticipantYes Hygge, so do I. I remember it was you who lured Alec back to the forum at the end of 2017. After a long absence he gave the forum a boost and we still profit from it having some nice permanent threads for specific aspects of clouds. Let’s hope the great Doctor he refers to, will dismiss him soon from his duties and enable him to re-enter the forum. The species of the Corvidae are after all as intelligent as viable.
Hans StockerParticipantChaos in celebration. How nice Keelin! let’s hope your gathering tomorrow will be not that chaotic, but just a celebration. I envy you to be able to attend to a meeting of CAS. I wish you much pleasure and I hope for some notes about it from you.
