Patricia L KeelinParticipant
George, your sundog and/or ? images above are truly stunning!
And Hans, your Moonhalo brings to mind lyrics of a lovely song by Greg Brown…
And there’s a ring around the moon; long, long time ’til day
Play me one more tune; please don’t go awaywhile fingers of the tree branch seems to hold the glow delicately in place.
Below, Mr. Crow stays for an encore by that other orb in the sky.
Halo Performance
Patricia L KeelinParticipantHans, Shadow On The Wall is simply extraordinary — every aspect of it. And you’ve followed this with another electric shot of CVI and clever title in On The Flying Trapeze. As usual, I begin to smile when I read your titles in the email messages before clicking on the links. The anticipation of knowing the images will be remarkable is part of the joy. Astonishing, I think, how does he do it?
The Great Depths Of Wonder
Patricia L KeelinParticipant… and a dreamy one to all cloud lovers everywhere from California~~~
January 1, 2019 at 5:59 pm in reply to: Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis – Scotland – 4 November #323221Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhat a way to bring Light and Joy to the new year, George! A fantastic photo!! Thank you for sharing this beauty with us. The experience of being right there in the moment must have been breathtaking! Looking forward to seeing more of your images once you’re rested. Meanwhile, happy new year and best wishes to all for moments like these that inspire us to pause and wonder.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantDownright trippy, Hans!
While the caterpillar crawled down from his mushroom perch to chat with a nearby flower, Alice sought to make sense of his remarks and figure out what was what and which side was which.
Go Ask Alice
Patricia L KeelinParticipantGorgeous photo, Hans! Love the streaky flow of wind currents in your image above. As for which wave to follow, sometimes one is simply overwhelmed.
Along For The Ride
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, your Arizona B&W#202 looks like what it feels like when curiosity is rewarded with such a cloud capture. It might be that lovers of the wonders above can’t help but cave in to such cravings.
The Irresistible Urge To Explore
Patricia L KeelinParticipantIndeed, it is so, Hans. Sometimes it takes a few moments with eyes relaxed, and then, as you’ve noted, what is seen cannot be unseen. And yet, while the cloud is still in its sea of sky, it may morph into something else entirely. By the time your splendid Celestial Squid crosses the pond, who knows what will be seen…
On Close Examination
Patricia L KeelinParticipantHans, your image of the sun’s last attempt has a pleasing patina to it — lovely subtle colors there, and in your composition in reds as well.
Hygee, thank you for links to stunning photos.
And Micheal, ah, another beauty with a blush.
Below, crepuscular rays stretch out the final moments of a Winter’s day.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWOW ~~ Fantastic photos, Michael, Hans, Neil! Thank you all for the pure joy these images bring. Truly beyond measure.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, Arizona B&W #201 will long remain a favorite. And Hans, your duster comment made me laugh aloud. Then there’s astonishment at the remarkably crisp detail you captured. Meanwhile, I was still in cleaning mode and…
Found This Under The Bed
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA warm welcome to the forum, Neil! And thank you for sharing your first posting with us here. I hope we see more from you too. As Hans noted, it is a splendid cloud photo regardless of paraidolic associations. To my eye, of course, there is an immediate and unmistakable resemblance to Puff the Magic Dragon, which only enhances my enjoyment of it. Some people seem to have an irresistable tendency to see the familiar in the vaguest of shapes. Perhaps it is an inherited trait? It can also be surprisingly amusing when the eye is drawn to a portion of cloud and suddenly something blooms in one’s mind or memory. Like Hans’s lively Sky Insect. Wherever might it be heading?
One Might Wonder
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhich Wave To Follow, shows some fine options for the clouds above, Hans, while the waves below don’t seem to wonder or wander.
Follow The Leader
Patricia L KeelinParticipantVery clever and funny, Hans! I can imagine Monsieur Magritte might also have something to say about a certain moonlit portrait…
Ceci n’est pas jeune Billy
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you, Hans, George, and Don for such kind comments. So fun to catch the dogs at play — especially when they’re shy. And George, what an amazing image that glowing smile is — kind of shy in its own way.
