Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhile my mind naturally wants to make something perhaps nameable of what I see in your #166, Michael, the ambiguity of it proves an even greater delight. Wonderful!
No such mystery in the image below.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove that Wiggly loop in your image above the above, Hans. As for the one immediately above, what a timely capture!
In the image below (unfortunately quite grainy due to far distance), I liked the way the cloud seemed to curl over and press gently upon the jet trail. I suppose it’s one way to make an impression.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you for well wishes, Hans. We are fortunate once again to be in a sweet, rare spot where PG&E has not cut power and flames still at a distance. Air quality is bad, but we cannot complain when others are in dicier situations. Your Harmless Ball Of Fire is one I can appreciate! A beautiful capture of color.
You have been missed and it’s a delight to see your return—a splendid reason for party poppers! As for that smile, I’m not sure why it posted twice, but yes, it is from the same event as the one you can see on the Color thread. That image shows the true orientation, but from a slightly different location.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantBeautiful composition in #315, Michael. Really love this one!
The image below was not taken from a airplane, although it has something of that look.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantAnother gorgeous photo from you, Catherine! Thank you for sharing it with us.
A few days ago. I was lucky to catch a very subtle “smile” (near top of photo) in the mid-morning skies over Napa. This CZA moved quickly along, but held me motionless for the duration of its appearance. I’ll post a closer look on the Optical Phenomenon topic which is devoted to such wonders. Many amazing images on that thread!

Patricia L KeelinParticipantI can see why that cloud caught your eye, Roma. You made the most impressive photo of it with that perspective.
And beautiful drama captured in #713, Michael. Exquisite lighting. Wow!
And thank you, Hans, for kind comments further up. Cloudplay is inspiring! The wind certainly knows how to do it.
The Whim Of The Wind
Patricia L KeelinParticipantBlimey, Hans, love those Drips! (as well as your very amusing title).
And Michael, what a portrait of cloud magnificence! Also, so right you are about B&W photography taking the eye to new sights.
So beware, Ling! This is the forum topic that first drew me in—and it has never let loose. I hope you’ll try it out and join us here with images from your home skies.
