Hans StockerParticipantKeelin, I agree you captured the atmosphere with these whirling clouds perfectly. Love it!
And when Moody Blues appear next one must follow.

Knights In White Satin
Hans StockerParticipantAh. the toe-wiggling was somewhat postponed but nevertheless took place when I was sure afterwards what I saw.
Be careful Keelin not to get stuck like the halo did in this fine web!
No nacreous now but the familiar iridescence while waiting for a new opportunity.

Hans StockerParticipantHi Laurence I checked calendar of eclipses that are visible in the Netherlands and the one you mention on 26 May 2021 is to my surprise indeed not visible over here. Until 7 September 2025 there are several eclipses of which the total eclipses are not visible over here or just the beginning and the same applies to some more partial eclipses. So for a comparable event over here like last Monday we have to wait until 7 September 2025. I was so lucky that Mr. Sod did not prevent me from seeing the spectacle. I hope he keeps quiet the next time you have your chance again on 26 May 20221. Fingers crossed!
Hans StockerParticipantYour last two color pics are both very remarkable each in their own way Michael. I love the fairy and snowy look of #606, while #607 has this fine structure almost without color. Fantastic!

Contrasting Structures
Hans StockerParticipantHi Laurence
My whereabouts are in Haarlem, the Netherlands so there must be no big difference in next dates for an eclipse with the UK. I got the date from a Dutch newspaper. Maybe it is the totality of the eclipse that makes the difference?
Anyway thank you for pointing this out. Now I want to know more and I will try to find out what was meant.
Hans
Hans StockerParticipantArizona B&W #207 and #208 have both a very special texture, Michael. I love #207 in particular.

No Blood Involved Nor Wolves
Hans StockerParticipantThat was quite a great occasion to catch this in your time lapse in moonlight George. Thanks for sharing!

Hans StockerParticipantGreat shots George. I have to do without own shots and just memory of a great sighting. Love your last shot with this tiny red moon in the corner in this great big black sky.
Hans StockerParticipantLove your wolf-like Skoll Don. This morning I saw the moon getting devoured leaving a blood moon and only for this occasion I was lucky that the sky was cloudless. Out of bed at 04:20 and watched the moon getting completly shadowed. Unfortunately no pictures but just the memory of watching it rather closely with a telescope. Afterwards a short nap and a new day was there. We have to wait until the 7th of September 2025 for the next total eclipse over here.
Hans StockerParticipantHello Robert, thanks for sharing your departing souls. In some way clouds are always departing souls. Nice name you gave them.
cloudwise I think you captured some very nice cirrus uncinus, which is best shown on the third picture. Very nice. Do you have other nice clouds hiding on your computer?
Hans StockerParticipantVery nice contrast between the whites and the deep blues in #605 Michalel.

Hans StockerParticipantThat looks like familiar Dutch weather like we are having here at this very moment, Keelin. Nice warm and dry inside and doing some photoshopping?

A Somewhat Wintery Feel
Hans StockerParticipantThe other way around, I should say. That’s a Unhatted Hatter that might give the Mask the fright, Keelin. Great capture, love it!
