Meeting Of The Tides
Hans StockerParticipantAnd a bit later I noticed my Chicken Abductee had morphed into the Talking Sorting Hat deciding on Gryffindor or elsewhere to participate in cloudy wizardry.

Sorting Out The Decision
Hans StockerParticipantYour Richard III cloud is amazing Michael. I am sure you googled for other examples or something alike to explain what you saw. I did so and could not find a clue. It has first off all the features of a roll cloud but these rolls tend to move ahead of the front they are heralding. A lenticular can stay at one place but that must be above a hill or mountain where it can expose its orographic trickery. Lenticular seems to me the less plausible. I stick on roll cloud. Did you post it for the gallery? Gavin or Ian might have a clue based on your precise observations.
Apart from the explanation or classification I like this picture very much just because of this thin line dividing the composition in two parts.
Hans StockerParticipantThis is so funny Keelin! I don´t loose my smile for a whole day after having seen this one.
Hans StockerParticipantYes Michael, it is quite recognizable to look at abstracts each time in a different way. Love #172.
Que Será, Será is a very happy and joyful one, Keelin, since it seems to clap in its hands while singing.

Whatever Will Be, Will Be
Hans StockerParticipantYou are bringing the Clouds-that-look-like-things to an abstract level Keelin. Your “Adrift In The Memory Of Whence It Came” is indeed a beauty that deserves this mystical title. And “Frisky Puppies Never Failed To Startle Her” is pure dada. As is the process of making it. The wet pavement look is also almost metallic. After the Friskie puppies the unexpected Beluga that swims the blues astonishes for a third time in a row. They all are intriguing combinations of image and a inseparable title. Each one of them makes my head spin with associations. Love it.
Recently I saw this less abstract but strange vertical cloud structure in a rather lenticular sky.

Hans StockerParticipantSo funny Keelin, this story about decapitation and losing one’s head! A CAPITAL issue, I think.
And great #171 Michael. Could You Repeat That?
By the way Keelin: Could You Repeat That is without precedence but I realize that does not answer the question. Very nice.

Let’s Morph
Hans StockerParticipantInto The Great Unknown is such a challenging picture Keelin with already the presence of the playful influence of winds you look forward to. I see in The Great Unknown – in my own pareidolic way – this welcoming gesture of the cirrus cloud to all what yet has to come.
I also hope for more Cow from you Michael, but I can imagine Arizona Contrail #50 is a favorite of yours. Fine cirrocumulus with a hint of iridescence caught between two parallel lines of contrail make a great composition.

Straight And Narrow
Hans StockerParticipantMany thanks Keelin for kind words. It makes me truly sorry for your lost socks :)
Next one is from my series of my first and only observation of a CHA until now. I remember the appearance started with – or rather in – this little patch of cirrus. The first signs of eh CHA were there, for it got illuminated more than usual. With a little help of LR the colors are also made more visible.

Hans StockerParticipantThe Single Scoop might have been from Baskin & Robbins as well I think. Both very nice.

Cloudy Prominences
Hans StockerParticipantThat is a really nice Big Pond, Keelin. With beams coming out of the rippling waters. Rather fairylike.
