Gregory VenarskyParticipant
We have 2 optical phenomena in this photo! See if you can spot them both!
Again wonderful photos everyone! Especially that interesting rainbow Hans and some of that splendid iridescence Keelin.
Gregory VenarskyParticipantWonderful shots everyone!
Cliff’s edge
Gregory VenarskyParticipantAh yes,my favorite thread of all. Hello everyone, today I have for you a variety of wonderful clouds in this sunset photo, including a shadow from a thunderhead, some lenticularis, and layering of clouds. Ruth, Michael, and especially Hans(what an array of colors!) all of you have wonderfully beautiful photos. Hope you enjoy!
Gregory VenarskyParticipantMy friends! I am back! And with a good shot too. I was watching in an incoming front and saw that a plane had just flown through a cloud and left a nice streak. Hans your last two photos are wonderful, especially the one comparing an old trail to a new one. And Ruth, your last set of photos were spectacular a brought light to my day. Hope you enjoy!
Gregory VenarskyParticipantHello!
I don’t know what it is about this photo that makes me want to smile. It feels special somehow. The light is just perfect, and the mix of clouds fills me with the utmost joy, yes, but there is something more to it than just that.
Enjoy!
Gregory VenarskyParticipantGreat captures everyone! I’ve been more appreciative of what clouds can do with colors as I have a job that constantly puts me outside. I looked up the other day and saw some of the purest colors I have ever seen. I finally captured a circumhorizontal arc! This picture is from my camera and so it isn’t the greatest quality but it’s still breathtaking to look at.
Enjoy!
Gregory VenarskyParticipantHello everyone!
Today I have some pretty wonderful photos to share with you. It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, and so I thought I might as well come back with some pretty incredible stuff to show you all! These two were taken of the same sunset about 20 minutes apart. The second of the two is one of my favorite sunset pictures ever because of its deep red color in a nice little ribbon-like shape.
Enjoy! Hope you all are doing well!
Gregory VenarskyParticipantThank you Jocelyn and Ruth! I’m glad it worked, although I wonder what went wrong in the first place.
Gregory VenarskyParticipantHi Jocelyn! Do you mean for the picture on the previous post?
Gregory VenarskyParticipantHello everyone,
I know it’s been a while!! Welcome to the forums, newcomers! Thought I might share this lenticularis sunset with you all. Stay safe and healthy all!

Gregory VenarskyParticipantHello everyone,
Love to see the forum still active during this time and what lovely pictures you all have shared. This week has been a dull one for cloud spotting. So here’s a relatively recent picture of an absolutely gorgeous sunset. (There are 2 actually)
Colors galore
Gregory VenarskyParticipantWelcome Steven and Daniel!!! Wonderful pictures from the both of you! Especially that sun pillar Daniel. Here’s a little capture I spotted the other night. Pretty vivid if I must say. Enjoy!!
Gregory VenarskyParticipantHello everyone!!
Here’s my first post on the contrast thread and I want to know how many you see.
