Hans StockerParticipant
Your last Arizona B&W #243 has a mysterious and very abstract feel Michael. Great play with whites and grays
I love Anchored, Keelin and its association with seaweed. Maybe it is anchored to some …
Coral
Hans StockerParticipantFeeling Feisty is great fun, Keelin. A sky that makes one happy.
Michael, you have a marvelous series above and #167 is absolutely fabulous. Love it.
Not Yet A Hole
Hans StockerParticipantI now understand it is a golden sand-path to the pot of gold Gregory. Ruth and Keelin, you spotted some very bright halos. Elsewhere the halo is waiting for a sundog to come and play. For me it is the other way around.
Halos over here seem to have gone to the dogs.
Hans StockerParticipantWelcome Arielko. you posted a great heartwarming heart. A great halo, Keelin. The sundog where you are waiting for might have run to a different thread. And I love your Furry Paws Land With A Splash. Are they from the Dog After His Ball by Ruth?
Sky Spider
Hans StockerParticipantThat is very nice mixed sky you spotted, Sheila. In my opinion you have all the relevant cloud types well identified. When I zoom in on the parenthesis-like clouds jst above the trees in the image they seem to be some lower hanging small cloud structures. To me they look not to be very much lower than the altocumulus layer, so I guess they may be virga falling from the altocumulus. I am not sure I must say, so I look forward to any different opinion.
Best wishes, HansHans StockerParticipantRough mamma and wild cirrus, Duncan. So much differences in the ones above. Love the flow in your latest Michael.
Pastels
Hans StockerParticipantYes Duncan the one that took this very sharp turn could have been a great start of the former volume. Great spotting!
Kelvintrail
Hans StockerParticipantThanks for launching Volume IX of Sunrises and Sunsets, Michael. You start with two great ones followed by Keelin and Duncan. An au revoir to our golden friend, that’s a great way of naming a sunset, Keelin. Here’s an other au revoir.
See You On Next Day Reunion, But It Will Never Be The Same
Hans StockerParticipantA Birth In The Sky
Hans StockerParticipantThis is a perfecta example of cool moist air blowing from the North over the land forming cumulus when the cool air warms and rises above the land. The row of cumulus clouds follows the coast line perfectly.
Looking North
Hans StockerParticipantYou managed to make the separate layers of clouds visible in #163, Michael. Must have been fun to do.
Grainy, Wrinkly and Fluffy
Hans StockerParticipantThank you Suzanne😊
Hans StockerParticipantA nice series above of shifting shapes Michael.
I like the taste of your Espresso, Keelin. And you are right that there is a dragonfly in what I thought to be a creature-less Cloudscape. Very funny.
Swept
Hans StockerParticipantThis is an interesting question you put forward Ramona. The images are clear and I can see what happens. What I know (you can find it in Wikipedia) is that super cooled droplets in the altocumulus layer need ice nuclei to crystallize to start the process of the formation of a fallstreak hole. Usually it is a plane that causes the start of the process. Never thought it could also happen this way but yet we can both see it on the images. I suppose / assume that the droplets in the growing cumulus provide for the needed nuclei to trigger the fallstreaks to form.
I am curious for other opinions. Thanks for sharing this one Ramona.
Hans StockerParticipantYes, time for a lullaby Ruth. I love your Back To Present and Always A wonder. It is in the name. And Michael your last ones are fabulous and the ones I love most are #821 and #824.
After a lullaby and when the sun is set this Volume reaches the magical number 100. So volume IX has to rise soon.
