Hans StockerParticipantThe wizard did not wait for the incantations Keelin before going up in mere cumulus (indeed great timing Michael) by the power of your wand.

Relief. This is where he stood… Further Mischief and Magic prohibited for now.
Hans StockerParticipantLovely Something Virga ans Whispers! Both very delicate.

Flock of Virga
Hans StockerParticipantMichael, I agree your Speckled Asperitas is a beauty. I assume the layer of clouds is relatively thin?
I agree also with the analysis of the asperitas giving the eye. This was more a cut-out with some interesting features (to me). Here is larger sampling that shows a lot of lenticulars but with irregular undulating in it. I am curious what your opinion is on a wider view.

Hans StockerParticipantThanks Michael, for the initiative to give asperitas its own topic on the forum in a great start. It is only one month and two weeks ago that Geoff LB reported that asperitas has become mainstream. That might be in the sense of common knowledge, but not in the sense of its appearance.
I hope for a lot of different contributions and I hope you don’t want too limit it to only clear cases, Michael. There are also cases where one doubts whether it is asperitas or not. There are so many different kind of appearances that they are worth to discuss imho. For instance your recent ‘half half” on the Colour Thread IV (which I think it is).
What to think of this one. Is this asperitas giving the eye?

Any opinions?
Hans StockerParticipantA Fine For Fun! These alliterating nice sounding words make it almost some kind of joy or favor to get. Your kind words do the rest, so no need to raise funds. This is really worth it Keelin.
Your Awakening has a lot of magic in it. Love it. Once caught in the thought of it, it keeps my mind busy thinking of what a dark wizard might be up to.

He stood up and had to tell the world …
Hans StockerParticipantHello Carsten, welcome. The answer to your question is almost too easy. Whether you want to share a picture on the forum or on the gallery is first of all your own choice. The way to the forum you already found. DIn he case that you have a nice picture to share on the gallery click on´Gallery´ in the main menu and you see three choices of which the third is `Submit a photo´. You will find an email address and some do´s and dont´s. Easy enough.
I look forward for pictures from you on the gallery and on the forum.
Hans
Hans StockerParticipantThat are feathers to be proud of Keelin, most certainly in the case of a B&W paradise bird. Wonderful and very well captured iridescence! Love it.
Hans StockerParticipantGeorge, it might be a horseshoe vortex, but I am not sure. There is also the possibility it is something in the form of a horseshoe. Like you wrote the view on it is a bit troubled by the lower clouds. I am curious about any other opinions.
Hans StockerParticipantLove the birds Keelin! But what strange story these winged witnesses would tell. I expect no one will believe their wild stories seeing this innocent rippling peaceful waters a bit later……

Hans StockerParticipantI hope so too Michael. Keelin just closed Volume X with “Grown so Attached”. So am I to the addiction of all these and former B&W’s. Do like Keelin did and take a stroll through the wild mix of the 100 images of Vulume X (or earlier Volumes!) before being attached to Volume XI.
Wow, almost 1000 B&W’s already !

One capture from the costly mainstream series….. Was it worth it?
Hans StockerParticipant
A contrail splitter with a part of the parhelic arc in its tail.
Hans StockerParticipantI should have known you can’t be stopped Keelin. Nevertheless unexpected so soon. Very nice.
What do you think of this contrail splitter (recognize the paradise bird?).

Hans StockerParticipant
No Passeran
Hans StockerParticipantNice composition with moon Michael.

Mixed up
Hans StockerParticipantThanks and ….. wow George, especially on the first picture you posted above the arc is really large. Great capture. And I share your appreciation of the chaotic cirrus filled sky.
