Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Gregory! And who’s to say that’s not an Arrowfish? When it comes to clouds, the untethered mind is well encouraged here, as evidenced by all those who enjoy posting to this fanciful topic.
Below, the photo has been color-inverted to bring the ‘Night’s Merry Wanderer’ more visibly out to play. That said, it is still all cloud, no mischief, just pure merriment.
Shakespeare’s Puck
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA warm welcome to you, Steve! Glad you’ve joined us and hope to see you often here and on other forum topics as well. Love the open feeling, like a breath of fresh air, the photo you’ve shared delivers. Just what’s needed when we’re all indoors more often than usual.
And George, thank you for yet another exciting time-lapse! Such a fun peek through the clouds at the layer beyond.
The photo below, taken about a month ago, has the look of how it felt when I stepped outside early this morning.
Frosty!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantSuch wonderful variety in this thread. Especially love the drama in Hans’s Rain And Wind and the color in Michael’s Hail.
Interlude
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLovely Heart, Ruth! And here’s a little something to go with it…
A Wink & A Smile
Patricia L KeelinParticipantHans, your Glimpse is deliciously mysterious. Although I’ve not seen horseshoe on a California menu, I wouldn’t be surprised to find a single green bean plated at some overly fancy restaurants. And yes, let us continue with this feast of B&W images. I doubt we shall ever be sated. Here’s a dash of this and a pinch of that to toss in.
An Old Family Recipe
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA warm welcome to you, Ying! That is a remarkable scene you’re captured. I can’t imagine that ominous cloud be any closer to the ground. Did you manage to stay dry?
And a warm welcome back to you, Gregory! So nice to have you posting here again and to the other topics as well. Grey Swirls is a lovely reintroduction to your photographic eye.
Nice minimalist approach in your #701, Michael. In a funny way, it reminds me California Cuisine. Love the cloud cube in #702 and the whole structure of that image. It is a favorite.
Final Flinging
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, that’s a gorgeous photo. You have really mastered the eye of the art.
Closeout Wave
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYour Deer On The Move fits well with the season, Ruth. Below, a winged traveler stops by a favorite watering hole along the flock’s migration route.
Little Duck, Big Pond
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA fine collection of color and clouds above! Love the blue-greys in your #920, Michael, and the impression of clouds resting like a blanket in Moody Blues, Ruth.
To answer your question, Hans: yes, I did know about 23 being a prime number, but about Fibonacci? Not so much! The internet is full of such wondrous enlightenments. Your Fluffy And Blue would make a nice dream pillow. Below, perhaps a not-so-distant relative?
Cloud Cousin
Patricia L KeelinParticipantSpeaking of cloud safaris, Ruth, I suppose that would be one way to still see some creatures like this favorite. Gone, but never forgotten…
The Dodo of Mauritius
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLet The Light Shine On indeed, Hans, and thank you for the perfect transition and launch of Volume XVII! Let’s all give it a whirl.

High Speed Blender
Patricia L KeelinParticipantPuzzle aside, Hans, your photo is a beauty. The soft, repeated lines evoke a melody, perhaps a lullaby.
It had been quite a while since I’d seen any iridescence here, but just a couple of days ago, there was this small patch of shimmering color…

Patricia L KeelinParticipantSo true, Laurence. We would be wholly lost without the influence of our dear moon, not to mention its guiding light through darkest night. As for its sway upon the clouds we hold nearer, it is often said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Here we see some proof…

Moon Cloud
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLisa, congratulations on your Cloud Of The Day photo yesterday! The skein of Snow Geese silhouetted by a beautiful pastel-clouded sky is absolutely stunning.
I am reminded of…
Sudden Inspiration
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, I can almost see the clouds in #196 reshaping themselves to come together. Leave it to clouds to know how to compromise without losing their integrity.
In the images below, I inverted the original B&W photo (on the left) and found the W&B version delivering a distinctly different feeling. Again, I thank you for introducing me to the idea of exploring this optional view. The results are sometimes quite a surprise. The semordnilap title seemed somehow appropriate.
