Hans StockerParticipantMs Duplicatus what are you up to? I really wonder.
My last one till the day after eastern is as mixed as my feelings.

Mixed
Hans StockerParticipantI find myself in between two Subtle Beauties both very different. One with sky covering clouds by Keelin and one with hardly any clouds by Michael.

In Between
Hans StockerParticipantThat is a subtle novelty Keelin: a linguistic cloud feature. very nice.
Thank you George and Keelin for the watercolor appreciation. And nice corona Ramona (oops this was not intended rhyme, but too nice to rewrite). Your slow shutter speed capture of the moon works very well. Smooth passing clouds.

Distant Hills
Hans StockerParticipantVery funny Keelin, the title as well! You have a keen eye to spot this one and he seems to be on the spotting track himself too. I will better do no foolish things. He seems to be determined.
Nice video George about suspected KH or not. You seem to have the same experience I described that these wannabee (or not?) KH’s appear more often. On your video they are really trying to develop as proper KH but don’t succeed in the end. Nice catch in the first place. Still KH is certainly possible in cumulus clouds although one might not expect such distinct sheering layers to let them grow properly. I’ve seen several on the cloudspotter stream and even captured one myself with the app.

Hans StockerParticipantSo true Keelin. My thanks too Ian.
Hans StockerParticipantI can see little Bear talking clouds clearly without any acrobatics, Keelin. Once seen …… Lovely.
The day before yesterday I caught next one …. well after all very easy to hunt because it was sitting.

Sitting Duck
Hans StockerParticipantSome more fish to come later Laurence. Looking for a cat I dug up one I posted almost two years ago with the question what I saw. It had the title ‘Craters’, but Hygge pointed out that he saw a long tailed kitten which has been laughing so much it has tears in its eye. Once seen it can’t be unseen anymore. So it has a good place in this thread for a revisit I thought.

Laughing Kitten
Hans StockerParticipantThat seems to be a mighty pileus formation over a already large cumulus, Ramona! very nice.
And the Festival by Keelin is something to enjoy in many ways! explosion of blues and whites.

Modest Grays
Hans StockerParticipantRamona, frequently looking at cumulus clouds I experienced that often these single KH waves can be seen. Maybe not that special when they are in a row at the more precise edge between two distinct sheering layers of air, but nevertheless…
Keelin gave the little elephant the opportunity for a nice Little Splash. It must have left this pattern on the surface of the water.

Afterbath
Hans StockerParticipant
Unreadable
Hans StockerParticipant
Strange Device
Hans StockerParticipantWow!
Hans StockerParticipantNice wordplay as well, Michael.

Soft Parade
Hans StockerParticipantYes Michael, crazy winds resulting in a Directionally Challenged scenery, to quote Keelin. I love those pictures. This one and the former.
So the former is also altocumulus floccus Virga which I misjudged for stratiformis? I must confess I didn’t give it much of a thought having found a straightforward alliteration. Good to know nevertheless.

Soft Duplicatus
Hans StockerParticipantP.S. Is it a coincidence Keelin that just after you and I mentioned Stephan Ingram there is a new post on the gallery from him? I love this fantastic undulating iridescence he captured.
