Participantnot sure i can match the magic keelin is unleashing, but made me think of this specter in the sky

Participantemanations from a think tank?

Participantlike your #215 michael — i see a moth there, or a winged something ….. perhaps keelin can put a more poetic turn to it than i ….. and ruth’s ‘looking ahead’ sounds an optimistic outlook — my own view of the setting sun thru the cirrus clouds was taken under the astoria bridge earlier this summer

Participantkeelin, your expansive ‘floccus in bloom’ reminded me of this one shot a few months ago ….

Participantnothing says summertime like a sunflower

Participantthat’s a clever little seahorse, ruth ….. here’s one that made me think of ‘ride of the valkyries,’ but on second thought looks more like santa and a few of his reindeer…..and that’s a much cheerier thought!

Participanti often try to make order out of the chaos of the clouds, when simply letting the chaos take over would make a better photograph — hans, your ‘messy waves’ are a case in point ….. here’s something similar

Rich Bergeman
Participantthe vivid imaginations on this thread are fun to see — there’s apparently much more up there than meets the eye! ……. i stumbled across these extraterrestrial sea creatures a few months ago

Participanthans, i like ‘twisted’ — and aptly titled …… looks like you’re a fan of ir in the sky as well …… here’s a twister of sorts that i saw on a drive in the country last week

Rich Bergeman
Participantthanks for the kind comments — and yes, you know ir when you see it ….. i’ve been using ir for landscapes for a few years now, but it was only during the pandemic lockdowns, when my travel was restricted to walks around my neighborhood, that i realized what a canvas of artistic possibilities existed right over my head, and i’ve since become a card-carrying member of the cloud appreciation society — a remarkable resource when it comes to teaching me about all the various iterations of clouds (cirrus, cirrocumulus and their relatives are my favorite subjects) …… here’s one from down the street from my home in corvallis, oregon
ps — hans, the evil lurking in your ‘fracture’ is inspiration for a graphic novel…… and on the flip side, i also admire the soft and gentle skies from michael and ruth
