ParticipantMagical timing, Michael! And what a beauty!!

ParticipantMischief & Magic

ParticipantThat is one wild wizard there, Hans! And now my mind wonders what mischief he might bring about. And would it require incantation or a simple wave of the wand?

ParticipantThank you, Michael, for a beautiful launch into yet another volume of visual delights!
And Hans, need you ask? Yes! Worth it by a long (albeit costly) shot. Perhaps we should have a fund for dedicated cloud spotters who end up paying fines for their fun. I would definitely contribute.
As for strolling back in time, the image below reminded me of the sleeping man I shared back in January of this year (Volume VIII). Although this photo was taken only recently, there’s a similarity in pose but with the look of just beginning to wake, one eye opening, and perhaps the remains of a dream about clouds drifting across his forehead. Will he remember it?

ParticipantMystery solved – and I am howling in delight. Love this image, Hans!

ParticipantFantastic images, George! Thank you for sharing these wonder-filled moments with us.

ParticipantOh my, Hans, this image is absolutely extraordinary! Fortunately, that par(heal?)ic arc is just what Paradise Bird will need to survive. Oh yes, I see it is happening already.
Regenerating Tail Feathers

ParticipantWhat a dramatic shot, Hans! And look out, Paradise Bird — contrail splitting is risky business! But whatever happens, I believe quick regeneration is possible for such a fine feathered ethereal creature.
Paradise Lost?
(But only its tail feathers. Well, maybe a bit more, but I’m sure it will all grow back in no time.)Patricia L Keelin
ParticipantRealizing (with some astonishment) that this will be post #100 to B&W Volume X, I enjoyed a stroll through the wild mix of the 99 images above. Wow, what a collection! Already eager to see what Vol XI may bring. Surely there will be plenty to keep us connecting.

ParticipantYour image describes it so well, Hans – the untethered meanderings of the wandering mind!

An Unexpected Opening

ParticipantWhatever the proper classification may be, George, there’s something fun in the form taken by the clouds you’ve captured there.
And Hans, Long After The Sea Stayed Restless would be the perfect title for a mystery novel with that image on the cover. Did something (or someone!) go overboard? Perhaps only those with a bird’s eye view could say.
Winged Witnesses

ParticipantThose Strange Crossings create a wonderful illusion, Hans — like a magic act that defies the laws of Nature. I’m watching closely, expecting some part of it to shift if I dare blink. At some point, I must expect the inevitable.

ParticipantHans, your Well-tempered Cirrus is music to my eyes. As are the well-defined layers of Asperitas above. Michael, I can almost taste the triple layered dessert you served us in Arizona Colour#100. Yum!
Cirrus Bouquet

ParticipantHans, do you think your formidable Sphinx might feel a bit of envy, having to rely on cloud support to move about the heavens? Perhaps he is singing that heartfelt song by the beloved bard Leonard Cohen.
Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be freeYour Paradise Bird looks as if he could go the distance, while the one below might need to rest her wings for a beat or two.
