Patricia L KeelinParticipantGreat variety in the latest three above. Hard to believe the sky can feature such diverse cloud compositions.
And wow, Hans, what a photo! Rippledness is extraordinary. Do I hear a rush of water melodiously burbling its way down those furrowed steps?
Below, a rather large sheep laid down on the roof. At least, I think it was a sheep…
Wooly Wonder
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove those gentle waves, Gregory, and the subtle-colored layering in Pinstripes, Ruth.
That wintery blue in your #927 and the movement in #929 give me shivers (of delight), Michael, and #928 is another beauty with its wiggly cloudlines.
Caught In Winter’s Branches
Patricia L KeelinParticipantDefinitely sensing the coolness of Autumn in the most recent photos above. The Wind in painterly moods.
Cirrocumulus Brushstrokes
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Michael, for your compliment on the Bundle further above. Your #709 reminds me of the dramatic skies of Colorado. Powerful palettes with all shades ‘tween black and white. You capture them so well.
Ruth, your Cow Fog photo is hilarious. LOVE IT! We have that kind of “oreo” cow here in Napa also, but usually sans fog. The mistiness seems to suit it well.
And Gregory, I like the white bird contour in your Sunlit Cloudscapes.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks for sharing this link (and the one to the image on APOD as well), Laurence. The flock of starlings was so dramatic, it almost took my vote. But, like you, I had to go with the golden glow of that misty sunrise in Holbeach with the one tiny bird in the upper right corner. So lovely!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLovely Twist, Ruth. That subtle layer of fog adds a nice depth to the scene.
And ah, Gregory, you must have worked a bit of magic with your kindness in posting that beautiful sunset for me. Amazingly, there was something dramatic at both ends of the day here! So thank you x 2!

Patricia L KeelinParticipantSince I’m usually not out during these photogenic bookends to the day, I especially appreciate all who continue to contribute to this beautiful thread. So many truly stunning images from everyone, and some I can’t help returning to see again and again (especially Michael’s #605, Hans’s Breakthrough, Ruth’s Getting Ready To Dance… and the river of mirrored clouds in Gregory’s Light Fog…) for the feelings of rapture they never fail to deliver.
The closest I’ve come to the twilight zone (well, at least in reference to clouds) is this photo below with just a hint of evening’s entrance from a couple of weeks ago. Wish I could have lingered longer to see it take on more classic colorations.
Approaching Sunset
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you, Hans! You just never know who is up there until you look up there! Be that as it may, I’m not sure about the photo below. Looks to me like it could be either Einstein (who has dropped his chalk in a moment of brilliant insight) or Beethoven (whose baton has slipped his grip). Only a moment or two later, as is the way of clouds, either/or became neither/nor. Perhaps they are both on their way across the pond?

Patricia L KeelinParticipantWow x 6 for all the above! Love each one for both individual and overlapping reasons. After the two most recent crispy servings, I have only this to offer…
A Freshly Harvested Bundle Of Billowed Wisps
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA mysterious and cleverly titled scene you’ve captured in Code Talkers, Ruth. The dark woods in the foreground add a fine bit of intrigue.
Skydive has an expansive, euphoric feeling, Hans. And Michael, #926 is an ode to the joy of free movement up there. While we’re all fairly grounded these days, it’s good to know the clouds are not so restricted.
Going Somewhere
Patricia L KeelinParticipantOopsie! Tinker Bell has fallen into the Sea where her wings are melting. But worry not! Magical creature that she is, she is having no trouble morphing into a mermaid.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Gregory! And who’s to say that’s not an Arrowfish? When it comes to clouds, the untethered mind is well encouraged here, as evidenced by all those who enjoy posting to this fanciful topic.
Below, the photo has been color-inverted to bring the ‘Night’s Merry Wanderer’ more visibly out to play. That said, it is still all cloud, no mischief, just pure merriment.
Shakespeare’s Puck
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA warm welcome to you, Steve! Glad you’ve joined us and hope to see you often here and on other forum topics as well. Love the open feeling, like a breath of fresh air, the photo you’ve shared delivers. Just what’s needed when we’re all indoors more often than usual.
And George, thank you for yet another exciting time-lapse! Such a fun peek through the clouds at the layer beyond.
The photo below, taken about a month ago, has the look of how it felt when I stepped outside early this morning.
Frosty!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantSuch wonderful variety in this thread. Especially love the drama in Hans’s Rain And Wind and the color in Michael’s Hail.
Interlude
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLovely Heart, Ruth! And here’s a little something to go with it…
