Patricia L KeelinParticipantBeautiful & Wonderful additions to the ever-captivating B&W series by the usual suspects.
And a warm welcome, Bill! Looking forward to seeing more of your photos. You obviously have the eye for dramatic composition — and hopefully a good raincoat!

Alien Volcanic Landscape
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAh Ruth, your moon shots never fail to leave me howling in joy. And it looks like that Spinning Top has wrung some iridescence out of the clouds.
Ariel, those playful sun dogs keep my eyes shifting back and forth waiting to see which side will catch that great luminescent ball. A splendid catch of iridescence!
Hans, what a dramatic portrait of Shadows and Rays! And thank you so much for the link to the atopics site—very helpful. Having had a look there, I’m thinking the photo below might show a faint portion of Circumscribed Halo?

Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Ruth! I think you are correct with the identifications (though I’m not clear on the difference between a TA and an Upper TA?). It really was such a surprise. You also have a keen eye for iridescence—as well as for vases. ;) And I love the softness of your latest capture. It’s almost like those little twigs at the bottom of the image snagged them just for you. And did I read something about your love of dogs? Here are a couple who came out to play recently…

Playtime for the Pups
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Michael. Your AZ #1411 could be a view under the microscope—which just adds even more mystery to such fascinating amorphous sky productions.

String Section
Patricia L KeelinParticipantPeter, I couldn’t agree more with Ruth’s comment and suggestion. That is a phenomenal photo! Thank you so much for sharing it with us here.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Ruth. Your Coloring Book has all the pretty pastel shades one might associate with dyed eggs of the season. Yesterday (easter), this looked like something that could hold a few.

Easter Basket
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhat a dramatic start to Volume XIV! Thanks, Michael, for keeping your keen eyes on the wild skies there in AZ and sharing the vision. Your Mouth Full is an eye full of beauty, Ruth. And glad you weren’t gone with the wind in Blown Away, Hans!
Meanwhile, here in California…

I’m Pickin’ Up Good Vibrations
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYour old dog still shines, Hans! And there is buoyant joy in your collection, Ariel.
After the latest rainstorm here, this vision appeared in the gutter, colors dancing…

cloud iridescence
reflecting in rainwater
tickled by a breeze
Patricia L KeelinParticipantRobert, your Scream is fantastic! And those wiggly dark clouds alongside it add to its impact.
Thanks, Ruth. Always a delight, as you well know, to be able to share even further via the Gallery. And what a treat to see Billy still up to mischief, this time over your skies there. Never know where that little goat will show up next.
Meanwhile, two dogs and a very tiny crescent moon appeared in the clouds below. It’s fun to see one pup, then the other, jump out each time I look at the photo. There’s a third dog and even a bit of Billy, if one spends a bit more time agaze, but they don’t appear (at least to my eye) as obvious as the two outlined further below.

Patricia L KeelinParticipantFor those who enjoy a playful sense of pareidolia, you might find a puppy about to splash into a rain puddle below (may be easier to see when the image is made smaller).

Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Ruth! Hope your visit to the ocean was a fun trip for you too. Sliver of Light is quite a delight, and Small Cake has no calories, right?
Lookinup, your snowy scene reminds me of x-country skiing days. What a great view!
And Robert, welcome — so delighted you are posting to the Forum topics. You have a keen eye for clouds in their many forms of splendor no matter what category they happen to fall within.
Here in northern California, we’re ready for more of the wet stuff.

Expecting Another Downpour
Patricia L KeelinParticipantPS: Hans, do you think your sundog might have chased this squirrel up a tree?

Patricia L KeelinParticipantRobert, your starry night sky is beautiful! A close encounter with the cosmos—and who knows what else?
Hans, did you wag back at that happy looking sundog’s tail?
Ariel, your timing is perfection to be catching the arcs and more. Thrilling, indeed!
And Ruth, I love the wild shape of the moon glow you captured.

Iridescent ‘Do
Patricia L KeelinParticipantRuth, Michael, Robert — you all offer hard acts to follow!

Abstraction in Gold
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove your Hound Dog, Ruth. Can’t wait to see what he sniffs out up there.
And what a mesmerizing scene, Robert. Wow!
I must have been standing on my head when this swam by…
