Wild streaks Michael in your last B&W.
Tranquility
Hans StockerParticipantStrange forms in your cloudscapes Michael.
Queuing
Hans StockerParticipantvery nice Michael.
Next one seems to be congested too.

Hans StockerParticipantIriscopy
Hans StockerParticipantThat’s a nice catch Eric. Thanks for sharing.
Hans StockerParticipantAlthough you are not allowed to go to the 50th floor anymore, you still have a privileged view on the Hudson bay, George. Awesome.
I like the view with the halo and the patch of light very much. I can understand that having light on the Liberty Statue would make it even more grand. I bet this picture also does very well in black and white.
Hans StockerParticipantHa, this phenemonon in beer needs very thorough investigation George. A serious lacunosus in a glass of beer must be fought!
Hans StockerParticipantNice corona ramona (quite the same as iridescence). The corona looks a bit distorted. Might be because of a difference in drop sizes left and right from the sun.Very nice.
Hans StockerParticipantFiery reds against cool blues. Great combination Michael.
Patchworks At Sunset
Hans StockerParticipantHello Ramona,
Goord to see you back on the forum!
Nice iridescence in the first picture. To me it seems to be cumulus that shows the iridescence in the fringes. Unfortunately there is no variety lacunosus for cumulus. So no lacunosus I think.
I use the links in the top of the forum to the ICA to check when in doubt. When you see the table for the summary of cloud classification you will find out in what kind of cloud (genus) lacunosus is possible and it will also show you an example. You can find more examples in the gallery of course for the genera that shows this variety.
The second one might indeed be floccus for cirrocumulus, but I am not sure.
Hans StockerParticipantSome play with colors
Hans StockerParticipantYour Cascade of Blues has a lot of movement in it, Keelin. love the composition.
In the sunrise and sunset thread Michael posted a beautiful red glowing Arizona sunset #53. It just looks like falling light on a ribbed glass window. Something alike I spotted while trying to catch a corona.
Hans StockerParticipantThat is a nice one sunny side up for breakfast Keelin. How about a poached one?
Hans StockerParticipantSomewhere …. over the rainbow .. Very nice Keelin.
Hans StockerParticipantNice example of castellanus George. Of the two following vortices the first one looks very much like a fallstreak hole and I am amazed by the second one. One must have a wide view to be able to observe something like this . Great spottings!
