Westerly winds sweeping over the crest of the Sierra Mountains created long strings of lenticular clouds that developed into a formation known as a "wave cloud", accompanied by iridescence along the edges. This unique sight was spotted over the Sweetwater Mountains in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, California, US.
