Good picture, Nick. A relatively monochrome picture(like a black and white photo), showing the overcast sky and icy Baffin Island in the Arctic Ocean in the background reflecting in the calm, mirror-like cold waters. Baffin Island is definitely a place that not many people get to visit. 3 years ago, in summer on a holiday to West Coast Canada with my mother, I went on a bus trip and got as far as Tuktoyuktuk(Tuk). Baffin is definitely a place in summer where you can get away from it all and be alone with nature for long periods of time. From Rebecca Hill, Canberra, Australia
Not quite monochrome, more bordering upon the sepia tone.
Lovely shot. Most pleasing and appealing.
The high mountain in the pokes up through the pine-tree forest like a sharp, pointy dagger. Looks like the strong up-draft winds from above have caused the lenticular clouds to spread-out to create the pile-up. Good shot! From Rebecca Hill, Canberra, Australia
Don’t often see too many pictures of the Falkland Islands. Definitely a long road through the treeless, grassy countryside on a long, straight, lonely country road in the middle of nowhere to your next destination. Wouldn’t want to be there in the middle of winter in July- very cold and windy and snow everywhere! Rebecca Hill
This road could be in Nevada, USA. They have roads just like this also New Mexico. Good shot from car.
Looks like an alien space-ship about to land in the New Zealand South Island town of Wanaka, in the Southern Alps on a fine day. Been there myself a number of years ago and was awed by the size and scale of the mountainous landscape in that area. You can see all the distant mountain layers that rise dramatically above the water of the lake. Lake Wanaka is a large lake that appears like a vast fjord in this picture, similar to what you would get in Norway, as it stretches off into the distance.
