A glory, an optical phenomenon observed when gaining elevation, is seen when the sun is directly behind a person, as it casts a shadow on to a layer of cloud or mist. The glory is produced by cloud/water droplets reflecting, refracting, and diffracting sunlight. This classic example was spotted from Pigeon House Mountain / Didthul, Morton National Park, New South Wales, Australia.
