Patricia L KeelinParticipantSo grateful to you, Ruth, for staying up to capture a beautiful haloed Wolf Moon.
Sharing The Love of Radiant Beauties
Patricia L KeelinParticipantNice one, Michael! And Hans, I think this baked good could use some of your clotted cream (from the Cloudscapes topic) on top to fill in the divots.
Fresh Baked!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, your pileus offerings are a splendid start for Volume XII, and #124 is like a soft murmuration. Lovely!
Ruth, your Cloud Dance has joyful feel. (And might that be a mermaid with glowing head swimming her way through it?)
And Hans, I love the contrast of smooth and rippled textures and the movement in your image above. I’d like to hear the dream that was dreamt upon it.
An Undecided Wind
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYou’re so right, Ruth, and your Flowers Too is a fine example.
Duncan, I am drawn as well to the sea and love it in any of its moods. One of my sisters lives in Santa Cruz and I never see the same sea hue twice in a row whenever I visit her. You captured a dazzling river of light wiggling its way to the sea and beyond.
Hans, I know you must also share an affinity for the sea. I love the tiny accent of that lone seabird in Some Delay. And the windswept grasses on the dunes adds yet another felt dimension to your second posted photo here.
While I haven’t many images that fit well into this new topic yet, here is one from the archives. Another quietly moody shot, but as I recall, not at all a match for my own mood in the moment it was taken.
Clouded Sky, Textured Sea
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYou’ve a keen eye there, Duncan.
Or might that be a hitchhiking snail that’s taken an unfortunate tumble off the magic carpet, Ruth? I trust your terrier’s got a good grip. And I can only hope such a small snail would make a safe landing and not get squished like others I’ve seen.
Alas, Poor Cornu Aspersum!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you, Duncan ~~ this will be fun! Love the fresh breath that comes with seeing these beautiful first images here from you and Ruth and Hans. Such a great sense of space in each photo.
Santa Cruz Bay, Early Morning
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhat a fine start the three of you have already given to Volume XX. Let’s let all the magic out of the box!
What’s Inside?
Patricia L KeelinParticipantDuncan, thanks for diving into your archives to share that beautiful sunset with dramatic rays. Gorgeous colors there.
Hans, I’m not sure if I want to ski on or consume that luscious photo. I think I’ll join Ruth with a bowl.
And Ruth, I love the softness you’re able to capture in many of your photos. The foggy morning in Bigfork, featured on the CAS Gallery last week, is just one of them. Lovely. Your latest clever title above inspired this one below.
Separation Anxiety
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThat fiery leap is a hard act to follow, Hans! I hope your tiger was not singed.
And Ruth, I trust your wee hummingbird will find a sweet treat.
Meanwhile, watch out for this creature which appears to be on the hunt for a bite-sized nibble.
Time For A Treat
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, I must agree with Hans on your Pileus photos. They are amazing and feel so close!
Hans, fortunately, I was able to mover over just in time! Although, I sense you would share the same temptation to linger. ;) And I’m glad to see that your Swarm looks to be a friendly one. I’m not sure you could outrun them.
Below is just a small area of a larger scene that caught my eye for its snowy look.
In The Field of Winter Dreams
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhat a joyful ride to scroll through the latest displays of exquisite color here. Tim, Ruth, Gregory, Duncan, Hans and Michael, you all bring the light!
Approaching The Blue Hour
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you, Ruth and Hans. Below is another photo from the morning’s series.
Ruth, I love your moon shots and really appreciate your being awake at 3:30AM(!) to take that glowing shot with the tree branches. The image reminds me of the old film style of closing down the audience’s view to a small peephole before expanding again to reveal a change of scene. I’d like to see the rest of that movie.
And Hans, Just A Moment is a beautiful, warm shawl I’d like to wrap up in. No matter the fringe seems to be a bit loose.
Just Out Of Reach!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantRuth, I like the fine parallels in your quiet composition in Taking An Evening Flight. Very nice!
And Hans, you do see the most remarkable contrail displays! Love the whatever Creepy (or not!) creature you posted on the 7th. And here you go again with another amazing and amusing capture. Are you sure it snapped and isn’t actually two split-tongued friends looking for a celestial hookup?
Drawing The Line At Sunset
Patricia L KeelinParticipantIt’s hard to believe quickly we appear to be approaching another full count in the color thread! And what fine additions since last I’ve been able to post here.
Love the tranquility of Moving Through, Ruth.
Arizona #157 is, as well described, pure velvet, Michael.
And Hans, what a dynamic composition you’ve captured in Diagonal. That must have put your toes awiggle.
Moving Over
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAh, thanks, Ruth. I think we all inspire each other to keep looking up with these forum threads. It lights up my day like nothing else to see what others see in the skies we all share. Especially good for the more challenging times we live in these days.
