ParticipantAh, Peter, you are so right about a blank canvas for dreaming and then the surprise of what we might see upon it. While I’ve never conjured anything as extraordinary as what Hans has captured and shared with us on this topic, I’m keeping my eyes on the skies ~~~ while my mind unfurls.
Heading Somewhere?

ParticipantOooh ~~ thanks for the warning, Hans! Might it be from the same session as your recent Gallery iridescence? I see some pearly teeth on that one as well.
Your Spilt Milk fits perfectly with this current flow, Ruth. No tears, I hope.
And another one rolls in…
Incoming Tide

ParticipantAh, Michael, I clearly see what you mean! Thank you for the excellent re-cropping suggestion.
And Hans, I think you may also be right about that fallstreak hole—a bird-created portal to who-knows-where. I only hope your Sticky cloud wasn’t waiting on the other side! It has a seductively soft appeal.
If you’ve ever sneezed into a bowl of powered sugar, this next image might look familiar.
Achoooo!

ParticipantNo question about it, I love the latest additions here from you both, Hans and Michael. A few days ago, we had similar skies here, and it looked as if a bird had dropped right through the large patch of cirrocumulus.

ParticipantWonderful recent additions from all of you!
Duncan, that’s a gorgeous skyscape you’ve captured in 50 shades. And Ruth, I never get my fill of your tranquil vistas over land or water. Michael, fantastical things seem to bloom above your head. Lucky for us, you keep your camera within reach. And same is true for you, Hans. I see both the Horse Head and a soap-bubbly rabbit heading in the opposite direction! Also love the joyful reach in Mirrored Patterns.
Rather than resurrect the Waves topic from way back when, I thought this one could crash here…
Double-Decker Wave

ParticipantSo true, Ruth. It’s great fun to let our imaginations off leash. And clouds certainly provide endless opportunities for play.

ParticipantHans, I remain in complete awe of your Crow Vortex images — so amazing! I have yet to see such wonders here, but I’ll keep looking.
And Ruth, yours come in Pink! ;) Love the wide ladder, by the way.
This one was barely there…

ParticipantLooks like those clouds are heading off to join some kindred spirits, Ruth.
While taking the photo below, I didn’t notice the cloud comma above a subtle heart emoji. Could it be a fragment of message written on the wind?
Love letter
Patricia L Keelin
ParticipantSo grateful to you, Ruth, for staying up to capture a beautiful haloed Wolf Moon.
Sharing The Love of Radiant Beauties

ParticipantNice one, Michael! And Hans, I think this baked good could use some of your clotted cream (from the Cloudscapes topic) on top to fill in the divots.
Fresh Baked!

ParticipantMichael, your pileus offerings are a splendid start for Volume XII, and #124 is like a soft murmuration. Lovely!
Ruth, your Cloud Dance has joyful feel. (And might that be a mermaid with glowing head swimming her way through it?)
And Hans, I love the contrast of smooth and rippled textures and the movement in your image above. I’d like to hear the dream that was dreamt upon it.

ParticipantYou’re so right, Ruth, and your Flowers Too is a fine example.
Duncan, I am drawn as well to the sea and love it in any of its moods. One of my sisters lives in Santa Cruz and I never see the same sea hue twice in a row whenever I visit her. You captured a dazzling river of light wiggling its way to the sea and beyond.
Hans, I know you must also share an affinity for the sea. I love the tiny accent of that lone seabird in Some Delay. And the windswept grasses on the dunes adds yet another felt dimension to your second posted photo here.
While I haven’t many images that fit well into this new topic yet, here is one from the archives. Another quietly moody shot, but as I recall, not at all a match for my own mood in the moment it was taken.
Clouded Sky, Textured Sea

ParticipantYou’ve a keen eye there, Duncan.
Or might that be a hitchhiking snail that’s taken an unfortunate tumble off the magic carpet, Ruth? I trust your terrier’s got a good grip. And I can only hope such a small snail would make a safe landing and not get squished like others I’ve seen.
Alas, Poor Cornu Aspersum!

ParticipantThank you, Duncan ~~ this will be fun! Love the fresh breath that comes with seeing these beautiful first images here from you and Ruth and Hans. Such a great sense of space in each photo.

ParticipantWhat a fine start the three of you have already given to Volume XX. Let’s let all the magic out of the box!
