ParticipantYour Spooky Moon is fantastic, Ruth! I sense it could also be an underwater scene with a great moon-eyed fish. Would be a wonderful image to include in a nighttime story book.
And it must have turned up the pareidolia knob for me as your next post took on the look of an iridescent growling dog. A guardian perhaps? Could be there’s another one just behind the trees here…
I See You!

ParticipantHans, I’m with you on the Wonder. Looking Up captures the state well.
It’s also well caught in your Back to Earth, Ruth.
And Michael, what a wild wow collection your recent posts are. #140 absolutely blew me away with its beauty.

ParticipantRuth, looks like you caught that Horseshoe Vortex just in time — you are lucky! Serious Cirrus can’t help but bring a smile. And the stunning photo of clouds over the Mission Mountain Range featured on the Gallery last week is a beauty.
This was a most welcome site a couple of weeks ago.

ParticipantArizona B&W#217 looks alive, Michael.
I think I hear the flapping of wings in Batman, Ruth. And the roar in Pacific Ocean.
Far up the coast, in the land of icy waters…

ParticipantHope your dog catches his treat, Ruth—before it turns into something else!
Meanwhile, I’ve been wondering if the natural metamorphosis of clouds may have inspired Kafka.
Alas, Poor George!

ParticipantLove your More Moon glow, Ruth. This topic hold so many surprises. And it doesn’t take much to make us glow when such optical delights present—especially with first sightings like your sundog. Congratulations!
Just A Touch Of Iridescence

ParticipantGlad to hear my final post to V. V gave you a good giggle, Hans. And thank you for getting V. VI off the ground with such an elegant, linear gesture. I think it’s gonna be a ringer. ;)
Split End

ParticipantAh, thank you, Michael! And I like the feeling of a flock in flight in your #216.
The clouds below remind me of this clever question posed by Satchel Paige:
“How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?”Ageless

ParticipantDoesn’t seem right to start a new volume for the Contrail topic with this lark, so just tagging it on here. A new type of CVI?

ParticipantThank you, Laurence! How I would love to visit Scotland. And then to look up and see the Aurora? Oh ‘twould be ecstasy indeed! A dream shared.

ParticipantCleared For A Landing has the bright look of a meteor, Ruth. A straight shot before winds have their capricious way with the trail.
Or the sun colorizes it, as in your Following, Hans. What a hue! Meeting of Styles renewed my long longing to spot a CVI. And at last! Written across the sky above my own backyard… How many years ago did you introduce me to this calligraphic wonder?

ParticipantOh, but Ruth, your snow scenes are captivating! I just hope you’re keeping warm enough there. Got hot cocoa?
And what a gorgeous photo is your Distant Travelers, Hans. Where are they heading?
Here are a couple who look to be in a hurry to join their journey.
Traveling Companions

ParticipantThey don’t come any more mysterious than your latest two, Hans and Michael. Love ‘em!
There’s mystery as well in your great Gray, Ruth. Beautiful variations on a theme you’ve captured both here and on the Gallery!
When viewed at a small size, the clouds below begin to take on the form of a bird with long tail feathers, like a charcoal drawing still in the making.

ParticipantAh Peter, can’t say you’ve not given it a good go! Once another image is revealed, it can be fun to toggle back and forth between them.
And Duncan, I see now the fellow sitting and the crustacean! What more might be found?
If you’ve not yet spotted the dinosaur, here’s a nudge that might help him come out stomping.
And who knows what this set of clouds has since become? I suppose we’ll just have to keep our eyes on the skies to find out.
Patricia L Keelin
ParticipantOh yes, I now see the face too, Ruth! And I like it very much. Mysterious, with that veil of cloud over the other half of it. I wish I could hear what tale s/he has to tell!
Your shark there looks a bit scary. Maybe he just needs a treat?
For the big guy below, some munching on some fresh tree shoots or binging on bananas will likely keep him from going bananas. Then, a nice bath might just make his day.
