ParticipantAlec, your sepia image of the moon is lovely beyond words.
And Hans, I love the layered look you’ve captured just above. And what does your delicate Veiled Cloud (further above) hide — or reveal? More mystery here! Perhaps your eye in the sky will tell all? As to the significance of 2, this reminds me of The Prisoner (TV series from decades past) whose main character spoke to a disembodied voice identified as #2, and asked repeatedly, Who is #1? Yes, we should keep digging deeper. Who knows what we will find?

ParticipantWOW, Hans! Otherworldly!

ParticipantA lovely blush in your photo above, Alec, and a mystery in the making. Would make a good opening shot for a film noir. Meanwhile, below, a winter branch snags a a diaphanous peach swirl.

ParticipantOf course, Hans, “Little White Rooster” suits the image just as well. I was surprised to see it on the Gallery this morning — up at the crack of dawn!

ParticipantA ghost of many colors, Hans? Beautiful! Meanwhile, lots of characters showed up for this occasion…

ParticipantAnd here’s a question for the experts: Do Portholes have legs? Or do they just tend to carry a slender (cloud)stick about as Hans’s photo shows? Intriguing image, by the way, Hans, it looks to be on the move in a way and something keeps drawing me back (or in?!!).

ParticipantThank you, George and Hans for enlightenment on shadows! Of course, it all makes sense now. And Alec, memento more makes sense as well! Perhaps a reminder to keep looking up while we can? Below is the first contrail I ever took a photo of simply because I liked the free-drawn chalkline feel of it.

ParticipantThank you, Hans, for kind comment on Frosty (a few posts up). And Wow! The contrail game just keeps surprising me — as do the lesser quantities. Beautiful astonishments from everyone. And wouldn’t we all like to climb that Rope Hans caught hold of?
I’ve never heard of anti-contrails, so thank you, George, for posting your image. I’ve seen something like that only once and wondered about it. Also curious as to what looked like a dark contrail in the image below. Anyone have an idea about this? Is it just due to time of day being nearly sunset?
And Alec, what do you mean your time is short?! If this is the only moment to say so, I want to offer many thanks for the flash of brilliance and inspiration you’ve brought us here on the expanded forums. If you must go, please do come back!

ParticipantSo many beautiful images from all of you! What a joy to have these glimpses of the sky from others’ eye views. Thanks to all!
And another surprise, at least for me, has been the striking images that include power lines. They’re something I’ve tried to avoid in the past, but the photos Donna, Alec and Hans recently posted have me looking at them in a new light. So thanks for this too, the opening of my eyes.
Michael, the colors you’ve captured in Arizona are breathtaking. And George, your moon in the trees is particularly stunning with that hint of the fullness cradled there. I hope you’ll continue making videos too.
And I have to smile when I think back to the launch of this topic and Hans posted his amazing Crazy Colours with the comment, “I hope a lot will follow.” Who could have predicted such a fabulous flow!

ParticipantOh Donna, what a gift you’ve given us all ~~~ Thank you for such a spectacular delight!

ParticipantAh, yes, that would be correct! Toes and tails awagging!

ParticipantHans, that looks like how I feel when I see any type of iridescence in the sky. Just little sighting yesterday had my toes all awiggle.
