I think it must be forbidden to enter this thread without having checked Sunsets And Sunrises Volume I. It ended with a Rothko, a Pollock and some serious Grinding.

Suggestions for a severe but righteous punishment of trespassers are welcome.

      Nevertheless….

Sadly enough the millstone slows and finally comes to rest. The sky is on fire in England and Arizona as well. In between the cool blues of Night To Day with a diminishing moon.

      Great variation again!

O such wonders! These sunrise/sunset images remind me of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Because the prince lived on such a small planet, he could watch the sunset several times a day simply by walking to a new spot.

George..Well that makes  two of us..Its undulatus at a good distance, thanks to a very good zoom lens, but there are two different sizes of undulations going on. The finer is at a different elevation and doesn’t reflect the  rays like the larger ones. I think..that makes the finer ones.. lower. Below is the same group some minutes later, therefore redder and the finer undulations darker. Even at the distance,,i knew the scene wasn’t quite like anything I’d seen before.

Another silver lining to boot. I was trying to snap some somewhat faint crepuscular rays early afternoon recently and the question came to my mind – are crepusculars more common at either end of the day?

Thanks for the opportunity to ask the question, George.

Thank you, George! So fun to watch the dancing of clouds heralding the dawning of day — a lovely visual celebration.

And thank you, Hygge, for your kind compliments. Having joined the forums a little more than a year ago (thanks to the warm and encouraging welcome from Michael and Hans on the first B&W thread), I cannot now imagine a day without seeing the skies from other’s eyes as we’ve been sharing here.

Hans, Some Reds deliver a warmth that is missing in the image below. It’s been sufficiently ch-ch-chilly here to dictate how I dress in the morning.

I love these Winter Layers Keelin. You made it your specialty to produce these beautiful blues. They look ch-ch-chilly but don’t mistake my reds for warmth over here. Some cold from Siberia is dominating the weather. It will last for a week so we can have some skate fun like Bruegel painted.

I like to explain my former title but I persistently get the message “ERROR: Your topic cannot be created at this”.  Anyone knows what this is about? I already asked Ian. I hope he can explain.

I rephrased and rearranged the accompanying text (with which the system seems to have some problems with) to sort out whether it would be so nice to publish it. But the system turns out to be in a bad mood. It didn’t work out well so far. Eventually I succeeded to rephrase the text in a way the system accepted (..?..) and I also had to split the text in different replies. Pfffff.  So at last the title is explained.
