ParticipantHans, Iriscopy is like a view of what is always there but cannot be seen without a moment of stillness. While I cannot contribute a “corona” to this thread, here is a little something to add to the celebration.

ParticipantA resplendent image, Ramona! You bring new meaning to “an eye for an eye” as you certainly have an eye for beauty. And it’s as if the Eye in the sky were looking at you as well!

ParticipantWow, Michael, that could not be more perfect! What a fantastic shot!

ParticipantThe growing membership of CAS is indeed something to celebrate, Laurence. And I can see by the announcement sent out this past week, they’ve already added another 100+ to the number posted on their website. It’s bound to increase, of course, and will likely make a huge leap with Gavin giving talks at three venues in California (Pacifica, Santa Rosa, and Tiburon) as well as Portland, Oregon and Boulder Colorado next month. It will be a true delight and honor to meet him and have a chance to thank him in person for all the joy of looking up he inspires.

ParticipantWhat a beautiful dog, Eric! I believe you’ve captured a very playful spirit there. And Hans, what a gorgeous corona posted on the Gallery yesterday. Congratulations! Most recently, this late afternoon 22˚ made my toes wiggle in delight.
The following day, an even bigger delight arrived in the form of announcement that Gavin will be coming to California (also Oregon and Colorado) for a series of talks! One venue is near enough that I’ll be able to attend and thank him in person for all he has done to bring us CAS and the forums that make toes wiggle worldwide.

ParticipantPerfectly poached, Hans! And it looks like Michael has whipped up something delicious for us as well with Arizona B&W #25.
I love the feeling Tranquility brings. And after a calm breath, is it time for more action? The drama of the dance below is quite enough I think. No animals were injured in the making of this image.

ParticipantWOW! and WOW! Some Play With Colors and Contrail Madness are simply fantastic, Hans! The B&Ws above them are also splendid. You have really ignited this thread with these beauties. Below is one that cannot compete, more like a little fizzle, but still fun to share.

ParticipantCan waves be slow? Mais oui! Can waves exaggerate? Certainment!
Can a wave pose a question?

ParticipantAnd wonderful texture, Hans! More blue and white below…

ParticipantLove the light and shadow in you images above, Hans. “And Pop!”, has almost the feeling of opposing tides.
And Michael, your most recent image is so deliciously surreal, I keep going back for another taste of it.
Found this one in the archives, and immediately the memory of Michael’s cleverly titled Burned Eggs (Colour Thread Volume II) made me smile again. The image below is not so colorful (but also not so burnt!). Bon appétit, mes amis!

ParticipantLove those subtle halo colors and the bright filaments of cloud in your image above, Hans. You cannot see me, but I’m right behind that friendly figural, applauding as well.

ParticipantLonging for Lennies here, with no sightings for months! But how good to know they are at least visiting you two, Michael and Hans. Your captures are lovely and, well, captivating (hope they’re friendly!). I can hardly complain, though with what does appear. Like your Heralding Change Of Weather, Hans, the clouds holds sway overhead with A Thin Layer of Winter Asperitas.

ParticipantHello, Norm. While I’m not in the know enough to answer to your questions about cloud classification, I just want to say that I admire your photos (the 4th being my favorite with those lenticular-looking islands below). Also, a funny thing happened when I mis-read the first three words of your PS above, “Could the cloud”. What made me smile is noticing an anagram for “cloud” is “could”, a word used in the English language to indicate possibility. What made my smile linger is thinking how clouds possess endless possibility for shape-shifting and for delighting those of us who look up to them. So thank you for sharing your images here and sparking this moment of mirth. I, too, wish you the best of success with your upcoming exhibit and hope we see more from you.

ParticipantYour guess is correct, Hans, I believe the hint of color was part of a very faint halo. Worth a pause even though barely there.
Your Composition In Only Blues And Whites is a two-toned beauty! Love the impression of frothy sea foam contrasting with the vertical play of those soft upwards strokes. This is one I will revisit often, along with Michael’s Morning Asperitas.
Keeping with the theme of Blue and White, here is one from a series in the archives.

ParticipantIt must be the quakey Californian in me, Hans, that makes such movement associations. I like your interpretation much better and thank you for this new vision. Your Glowing in Different Colors is a beauty! Those soft colors and shapes are something to relax in.
Below is one with contrast pushed to show the little hint of color in the breath of the clouds.
