Hans StockerParticipantThanks Keelin, I love your latest composition. It surely leads the eye into the Great Blue Beyond. Marvelous.
The bird that dropped through the layer of clouds seems to have caused a small fallstreak hole, don’t you think?

Sticky
Hans StockerParticipantYes, this thread is all about sharing our radiant beauties. Great title, Keelin. It is a beauty indeed and I think you spotted a bright lower segment of the 22 degrees halo. The sun must be above at the right. Is that correct?
I have waited a long time for a halo over here, but this one was the waiting more than worthwile. I spotted a 22 degrees halo with upper tangent arc and above it what most probably is a supralteral arc. I post three versions of the image. One without enhancements, one with enhancements that make the halos more evident and the last one with b-r subtraction in which they show even more clearly.

Supralateral arc, tangent arc and 22 degrees halo.
Hans StockerParticipantNice captures Suzanne. Duplicatus is used when two layers of the same cloudtypes are visible. I don’t think that is the case here, since the cloudtypes at apparent different levels are not the same. On your second image I see altocumulus and virga falling from the altocumulus cloudlets. I suppose that is also the case in the first image, although less obvious.
What do you think? Any other opinions?Hans
Hans StockerParticipantGreat composition in #204, Michael.

Mirrored Patterns
Hans StockerParticipantI love an Undecided Wind, Keelin. It seems that winds high up there can’t make up their minds.
Michael, your last three are wonderful soft dotted fluffy images. All examples of your favorite duplicatus I suppose?

No Decision Made Yet And Far Too Ripply To Sleep Upon
Hans StockerParticipantClouded Sky, Textured Sea is so serene Keelin. Love the view over these smooth and calm waters. Peaceful. Air to breathe…..
Grass and Fog followed by Gees Too form a great duo Ruth perfectly fitting together. Overwhelming vastness.

It Was Very Windy On The Beach
Hans StockerParticipantLike Michael I love the Fresh Baked!, Keelin. It must be great to taste with clotted cream indeed. Yummy! I wonder What’s Inside. Equally delicious I think.
Great mysterious wisp in #202 and #203 as well Michael.

Horse Head or Holes Head?
Hans StockerParticipantIt is a conundrum to me this smudgy smile. The only thing I can come up with is a hair or something alike on your sensor. I say that because I once had a series of images with something like this (although smaller and not in the middle of image). Later it turned out to be a hair that was stuck within the camera.
When this is the case you must have had this smudgy smile on more images. When that’s not the case my suspicion turns out to be nonsense. Just a try…
Hans StockerParticipantThanks for your great start of this volume XII with lots of your marvelous pileus shots, Michael. Your last oen (#124) is like looking through a dotted glass screen. Love it.

Rippling Sheet
Hans StockerParticipantI’ve seen already inspired images in the former posts. I love the Santa Cruz Bay, Early Morning Keelin. A great view over water and sky.
Hans StockerParticipantWow, Volume XX is there. Thanks for starting it Duncan. You must know Michael once started the first volume not even with a number. At the end of this new volume there must be posted about 20 times 100 B&W’s (maybe a bit less because of textual posts) = 2.000 B&W’s. And among them great masterpieces of abstract art of which Stieglitz could have been proud. Just to be continued after a great start with the play of lines by Duncan and the B&W cloudscape #201 by Michael.

Sweep
Hans StockerParticipantThanks Duncan. I hope you understood that I meant “initiative” and not imitative. I have to blame the stupid spellchecker.
Next one was taken just a moment before the former one.

Hans StockerParticipantDuncan, this thread is a nice imitative. I think the fence on your picture will not stop what’s coming. It is a great composition imo. And Ruth is right, we have to give the land a bit more exposure for this thread. I therefore have to search for land and sky image, since I prefer – until now – to picture details of only clouds or views with mainly clouds. This is one I found to make a start with on this new topic.

Some Delay?
Hans StockerParticipantThanks Keelin. Your Moving Over shows a great incus with mamma. Love it. I hope you did not get too wet when it moved over.
Michael your pileus shots are marvelous.

Swarm
Hans StockerParticipantMy favorite is #514 Michael. And Reaching Back is a classic example of asperitas Ruth.
I have to reach back in my archive.
