Howard BrownParticipant
Laurence, thank you for the moonbow. Don’t tell anyone, but I once denied their existence – I would be embarrassed if that got about.
Howard BrownParticipantOne more time (with a nod to Count Basie). Carla Thomas-Buffin’s fallstreaks taken at Hillier Gardens, Hampshire, UK, 10OCT2016.

Below was the result of entering a description ‘Carla’s’ – the above had no description added
Below I changed ‘200×200’ to ‘300×300’ – it fails with ‘HTTP 404’. Goodnight…

N.B. These are in my Album; The URL is in this note. I don’t know why the pictures are not here (and I’m out of time). Sorry.

Howard BrownParticipantJust stumbled on this Cambridge view of the Einstein waves

Howard BrownParticipantScrumptious. Love it. Am curious about the wider picture.

I gather there have indeed been aurora sightings in the UK recently according to a Weather Forecaster.
But this tree is always cropping up in pictures and is on the shortlist for 2016 Tree of The Year.

A champion if ever there were one. I could not find an appropriate cloud picture but ‘champion’ is the last word in this link:
Howard BrownParticipant1066 revisited – interesting cloud
Howard BrownParticipantHoward BrownParticipantHoward BrownParticipantIt’s intriguing that the waves are made visible by the cloud but are presumably there in the atmosphere without cloud?
Howard BrownParticipantLateral Thinking – Judith style. I love it.
Not having a smartphone I don’t know cloud-a-day, or scoring. But I love the idea of really thinking around clouds and/or a given cloud picture.
I had tinkered with the idea of using Itten’s colour wheel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Itten) from his treatise The Elements of Color – a simplified version of his major book. The idea was to encourage cloudspotters to think more about shape, shine, shadow, colour and tone. But I failed to nail it down.
Good Luck to you with your idea, Judith. Nail it.

P.S. You might use the previous post from Paul, the Guardian site, to experiment with some scoring technique?
