Weird Clouds over North Carolina

Bobby Coggins, member number 12680, sent in this time-lapse clouds video. He wondered whether this is an example of asperatus clouds. We think that it looks more like a sky of lacunosus and mammatus clouds. Either way, we like the dramatic effect.

Fascinating movie, Bobby. Especially at the end, where the background clouds are drifting in a contrary direction! Very good sky for a time lapse!
