    Further to Photo Editor’s note above readers may be interested in a phenomenon called “Air glow”.

    Today (27 Jan 16) on the NASAA APOD page a lovely photo is featured of an Air glow. At first sight it appears like an aurorae but this is not the case.

    Here is the photo and a brief informative explanation about how Air glows come about:-
