A dynamic view of Mt. Fuji at sunset, a dormant volcano, wherein the manifestation of a lee wave brought about what appears to be a variation of, and/or the remnants of, a lenticular cloud formation. This is a result of stable air flowing over a mountain barrier, generating wave updrafts and turbulence on the lee side. This photograph was taken by Akira Ebisawa, from the lake shore of Lake Yamanaka, Japan.
