Villarica volcano has active vents, one of which created this unique volcanic vortex ring, also known as a 'smoke' or 'vapour' ring, while simultaneously in the distance there were altocumulus lenticularis forming. Bob spotted these developments while climbing Villarica volcano in Chile.
Altocumulus in both its stratiformis and lenticularis forms, along with undulatus and cumulus fractus in this mixed sky over Neibla, near Valdivia, Chile.

A developing cumulonimbus with precipitation reaching the ground by way of what appears to be a potential microburst, which is a localized column of air (downdraft) within a thunderstorm. This evolving storm was spotted near South Canterbury, New Zealand.

A variety of remnants from contrails, including one that is spreading out due to strong upper level winds. Homogenitus, which is a cloud that forms as a result of human activity, is reflected here via the prior contrails. This colorful scene was spotted over Wilmington, North Carolina, US.

Fog is sometimes described as a ground-level Stratus cloud, since that’s the lowest of the main clouds. However, it often forms quite differently. In this photograph, it appears that this is valley fog for the most part, which is a variation of "radiation fog" after a cool and clear night, wherein the cold, foggy air sinks downhill and gathers further below. This classic example was spotted over Pauatahanui Inlet, north of Wellington, New Zealand.
