Patricia L KeelinParticipantFlying in to join the party, this winged wonder will have plenty of adventurous tales to share with your Minotaur, Hans.
Pegasus
Patricia L KeelinParticipantWhat a striking image, Hans, with just enough detail in those dark, lower clouds to give it an irresistible, magnetic allure!
May Autumn treat you to the best of celestial shows there. On this side of the pond, I still search the archives for reminders of a season yet to come.
Still Waiting
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you, Laurence! What a fun ride. ;)
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThanks, Ruth. And I love your Lone Wolf. The clouds appear to be getting out of the way as he dashes across the darkening sky. This reminds me that Halloween is approaching. Time to summon the gargoyles, goblins and ghosts!
Gargling Gargoyle
Patricia L KeelinParticipantVery sorry to hear you’re tasting toasted clouds there, Michael. Is your home at a safe distance from the fires? Everything is still quite parched here, and I can imagine it may be even more so there. I hope a good drink of rainwater will arrive sooner than soon for you.
Thirst Quencher
Patricia L KeelinParticipantSleep and dreams come easily to mind with the three images above. Michael, your #189 beckons like the softest bed, and Hans, your Djinn could find a role to play in any dreamscape while my noggin rests quite comfortably on that fine down pillow, Ruth. What adventures could be had! The trick would be to linger upon awakening and try to remember it all without too much distortion.
The Challenge Of Dream Recall
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAnother beautiful Study In Blue, Hans. That blush of pink adds the perfect highlight. And what a remarkable catch, Michael! A fantastic, layered delight.
Still very little in the way of cloud activity here. This one has been sitting in the archives. Or was left it the dryer?
Wrinkled
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove the wild exuberance in your #912, Michael. There’s a distinctly joyous feel to it.*
Below, something more sedate.
Pastel ImpressionsPS: *and, naturally pareidolia-primed, I see a face filled with delight—the kind of expression that comes with a warm hug.
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you, Ruth, for caring words. Some vineyards were totally destroyed, while others fortunately survived. Still more could use some good luck these days.
Those Goldfish do look tasty!
How To Hang A Horseshoe
Patricia L KeelinParticipantA Whisper evokes such a beautiful, gentle feeling, Ruth.
And what a fantastic view that cloud must have, Hans. Great drama in how you’ve presented it here for all to enjoy. And I couldn’t agree with you more about the freedom we’re offered here on the CAS forum. Was it Michael who first mentioned the idea of exploring color-inverted photos? Below is an example where both images maintain their cloudy qualities, but offer different dimensional perspectives.
One Way
And Another
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove the frothiness of your #188, Michael. And that looks like the start of a very promising day, Lisa.
Hans, fun to see your beautiful Quill Pen both here and in color on the Gallery! It is just what this cloud fellow below would need to record his lofty visions.
Pileus Dreams
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove the dash of color flavor in your Mint Julip, Ruth. And beautiful blues in your Cloudstudy, Hans.
That June flight was indeed a west-bound/homeward return from Denver. I was so fortunate to have a window seat. No in-flight movie could have competed with the spectacular (free!) cloud show below. Here’s another from the same flight passing over snow dusted mountains.
Snow Below
Patricia L KeelinParticipantThank you for your kind words, Lisa, and so nice to see you here again. Your lovely photo inspires— literally! I am breathing in the beauty of it.
And Michael, your B&W#186 makes me want to be the bird and go soaring through that beckoning cloudscape.
Below, this one just makes me sleepy…
Lullaby
Patricia L KeelinParticipantBeautiful photo, Michael, with the composition so perfectly balanced.
Below, another from the archives, taken last year over Colorado.
Homeward Bound
Patricia L KeelinParticipantIndeed, Michael! We are so lucky to have this forum with the international friendships it fosters and the respite it offers in the midst of such chaotic times. Grateful to all!
What I like in the image below is its painterly quality which became enhanced once converted to B&W. In the original photo, it’s a rather unremarkable, mostly blue sky, and what appears to be the moon is actually a round cloud.
