ParticipantRuth, you are a devoted cloud lover, waiting for the right moment to snap that Gallery featured moon shot. I hope you were well-bundled for Afternoon Delight. It, too, appears worth remaining still for. I see the way that tree limb is reaching for a Small Snack. It’s not moving either!

ParticipantMichael, #120 has definitely got mystery to spare. Wonder-full! And exquisite, textural detail in #121.
There’s plenty of mystery in your Black & Blue too, Ruth. I love the way what it actually is slowly emerges from what it might be.

ParticipantYes, of course, Hans! There’s a multitude of images that title would fit. ;) And I can almost taste the rain in your latest one above. Yummmm!
Ruth, I wouldn’t care so much which direction that road led. It beckons! Very sorry to hear Northern Lights did not dance within view for you. Hope the next opportunity comes soon.
Duncan, what gorgeous photos! The one with grey subdued colors is a favorite.
Rumor has it, there will be cause for celebration here tomorrow…

ParticipantCould Cupid be as stealthy as your submarine, Duncan? And maybe mend the Heart that Ruth spotted? There’s a fair wind blowing, let’s hope his aim is good.

ParticipantRuth, I love looking at the grand vistas you post from Big Sky country. They inspire deep breathing.
Michael, #142 is really something new! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it.

ParticipantWonderful images, Michael. Your latest one is simply remarkable!
Just Stringing Some Random Thoughts Together

ParticipantRuth, your Five Toes has me wondering if that footprint could belong to Big Foot from Bigfork.
And Michael, I can’t help but see a very happy fledgling celebrating the joy of new-found wings.
Duncan, I love your visions that elicit mood as well as awe. Lighting bolt in color and formation leads me to ask: Is everyone ready for Halloween?
Below are a few clouds collected since last Hallow’s Eve. The original photos, as surprising as it may be, have only been cropped and/or contrast/color slightly adjusted for seasonal effect.

ParticipantHans, what a beautiful, and almost other-worldly start to Volume VI! And the feeling just continues with Just A Glimpse… Another extraordinary shot and absolute favorite.
I’d like to float along with you, Ruth, and breathe in those big open skies you share with us here. Even a night flight looks promising, according to your Gallery-featured photo of a gorgeous full moon and clouds over Bigfork (congratulations!). Will you be on the lookout for an Aurora Borealis show tonight? Hope you’re treated to the extraordinary treat!
Richard, your photos above really captured the quiet drama of that storm that I’m sure did not remain quiet. Great compositions.
And Duncan, that’s a sky that looks like it could give you quite a wild ride. Their beauty is so beckoning! Did you get into one of those planes in the last photo for a closer look?
Before The Rain

ParticipantThanks, Michael, and Wow! I agree with Hygge on the beauty of #139. You are so right about taking chances with certain uncertain clouds, perhaps sensing their potential with a different eye? If that’s the case, you obviously have that eye!
Finally, clouds didn’t just sail on by…
Rain!

ParticipantThanks for posting the link, Hygge! Such beauty all around us, all around the world.

ParticipantSome gorgeous new images to delight us all above. Hans, Dashy is a liquid-like wonder. Definitely an all-time favorite. Ruth, I love that sense of beckoning you captured in Stripes No Stars. And Michael, is that a little figure doing a rain dance in #138? Looks like he’s getting some good results!
Recent Arrivals

ParticipantMichael, thanks for sharing the link to your great website. Endless fun, isn’t it? Your octopus in that big sea of blue sky looks to be on the move, and like his sea-dwelling cousin, appears ready to take on a completely new form in the next moment.
Ah Ruth, your Anteater charms. Ever since I had an enchanting dream about a Myrmecophaga Tridactyla, I’ve been enamored by them. He too, looks to be on the move, as does your dashing quick Izzy.
And Hans, WOW! What is going on in El Dorado?! I want to read the story and see the film on that one. A fantastic image!
I think this next creature might also live in same neighborhood. I’m not sure if it only comes out at night.
Another El Dorado Resident?

ParticipantThose long lashes look set for dream mode, Hans, where visions like the Michael’s lovely lenticular clouds may drift by and morph into, well, just about anything.

ParticipantGeorge, those are truly beautiful videos! Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
Love the delicate colors in Big Craters, Ruth. A little touch of iridescence can make a memorable sighting.
Hans, yes! I do remember well the fine detail in the photo you posted to the B&W topic a few weeks back. And a fine, colorful fox, you have there! Is he up to any mischief? Thank you, too, for kind comments on my recent postings above.
This one looks as if little tree branches poked the sun and some color leaked out.

ParticipantLove the calm flow in #1912, Michael, while #112 reminds me of Dante’s Inferno. Very dramatic!
And Hans, Here Comes the Sun is simply lovely.
Here is one that reminds me of a line in Mimi Farina’s song In the Quiet Morning, her touching tribute to Janis Joplin. Joan Baez (Mimi’s sister) sings it with great heart.
