Patricia L KeelinParticipantTim, Ruth, Duncan, Hans, Michael, what a collection you’ve brought to this topic. One after another, each image elicits an amazed ooh!, ah!, wow!
I’m rarely out at this twilight time, so appreciate all the beauty you’ve all been sharing here. On a rare occasion, I managed to catch this cloud murmuration.
Late Afternoon Flock
Patricia L KeelinParticipantRuth, I see your Blue Plate Special was served up on the Gallery—a treat for everyone to enjoy! As for Fluctus, I know it is quite a fleeting formation, so not sure if what you’ve captured might be the tail end of such a occurance.
There was hope for rain here last week, but, alas, only a drop or two touched down.
Deceptively Dark
Patricia L KeelinParticipantGreat contrast in the light touch of pileus in #134 vs. the grand sweep of shadow in 135, Michael. Both images are beauties.
And I love the Wrinkled look, Hans. So much more interesting than a smooth blue, cloud-free, age-defying sky.
Wings of Desire
Patricia L KeelinParticipantHere’s a toy for your Spaniel to play with, Ruth…
My Little Pony
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove the dramatic sky you captured in Rack Them Up, Ruth. And Blue Plate Special is a very clever title for the sky’s daily servings.
Below is more of a Blue Paint Special, apparently done with a very worn brush.
Weathered Paintbrush
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLooks delicious, Ruth ~~ and even more appetizing with that tiny dash of salt! Love the whole serving.
And thank you for kind words, Hans. Here’s another recent surprise…
Contrailbow
Patricia L KeelinParticipantLove the whispering pileus in #133, Michael.
Calm And Wavy is just what’s needed now, Hans. But once things settle down, here’s a little feather to give another tickle.
The Tickler
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYou’ve a keen eye, Ruth, to see be aware of beauty that’s Barely There. And I see you caught some splendid Asperitas too as featured recently on the Gallery. Congratulations!
Thanks for kind words, Michael! And talk about shadow work. Love what you’ve captured in #131.
Blown Away
Patricia L KeelinParticipantYou’re so right, Ruth. All creatures great and small, sneaky or otherwise, enjoy a tasty snack.
Just A Little Appetizer
Patricia L KeelinParticipantMichael, love the motion of that ocean of cloud you captured! It makes all the senses come alive.
As for Sticky or Burning? A wonderfully intriguing photo, Hans! And a good question. If it’s not too much of either, it might make a nice home for some underwater creature.
Below is one I think would find it attractive. It reminds me of another I spotted and posted almost exactly two years ago (further below). A relative perhaps?
Far Below The Surface
Swimming Through Uncertainty
Patricia L KeelinParticipantCheers, Ruth ~~ I toast to your colorful catch!
Yes, Hans, you are right about the radiant beauty above being halo segment. And what a beauty you captured! Worth waiting for and more. Thank you for sharing the three versions so we can see what’s really there.
Shredded Iridescence
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAh, Peter, you are so right about a blank canvas for dreaming and then the surprise of what we might see upon it. While I’ve never conjured anything as extraordinary as what Hans has captured and shared with us on this topic, I’m keeping my eyes on the skies ~~~ while my mind unfurls.
Heading Somewhere?
Patricia L KeelinParticipantOooh ~~ thanks for the warning, Hans! Might it be from the same session as your recent Gallery iridescence? I see some pearly teeth on that one as well.
Your Spilt Milk fits perfectly with this current flow, Ruth. No tears, I hope.
And another one rolls in…
Incoming Tide
Patricia L KeelinParticipantAh, Michael, I clearly see what you mean! Thank you for the excellent re-cropping suggestion.
And Hans, I think you may also be right about that fallstreak hole—a bird-created portal to who-knows-where. I only hope your Sticky cloud wasn’t waiting on the other side! It has a seductively soft appeal.
If you’ve ever sneezed into a bowl of powered sugar, this next image might look familiar.
Achoooo!
Patricia L KeelinParticipantNo question about it, I love the latest additions here from you both, Hans and Michael. A few days ago, we had similar skies here, and it looked as if a bird had dropped right through the large patch of cirrocumulus.
