From Michael’s Monsooner to Hans’s Winter in Holland, same ingredients, yet drastically different appearances! Here is a shy one that is simply soft on the eyes.

Wonderful shot, Hans — with a hilarious title!

Thanks for kind words, George. And yes, I still have just my little iPhone 5s. Limited, of course, but very handy. And if it wasn’t so quick to use, I might have been too late to capture this tall stack of contrail pancakes before they were devoured by the toothy fellow below.

Gavin: Thank you so much for fixing the forum before taking off for aurora borealis adventures in Canada. May the Lights be with you and all who are fortunate to be there with you!

Michael: More helpings of Asperitas from you are always something to look forward to. Delighted to hear you found an entirely missed cache!

And Hans: Your hide and seek sun photo is an absolute gem! It would make the most wonderful cover for a children’s storybook. And, if you wrote the story, there’s no doubt it would be both clever and funny.

Here’s one with contrast pushed just for the fun of it.

Michael, your Arizona Asperitas #56 reminds me of a classic tai chi pose — inspiring.

And Hans, your Still Looking prompted another dive into the archive beyond the playful (beautifully colorful) edges. And just look what was found — <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>finally! </span>

Thank you, George, for sharing your lovely videos with us.

And Hans, beautiful images above! I’ve never seen K-H atop a contrail. That sight must have been fun to watch develop. Below, an old contrail has gathered some friends alongside as it morphs into something beyond its original self.

So true, Ramona. It’s amazing what suddenly becomes detectable in certain black and white images. As in your twin photo above, and in the preceding one by Hans where the texture just pops! Below is an image that didn’t seem interesting at all in color, but surprised me in b&w.

Welcome to the CAS forum, Ramona! And thank you for launching a dedicated topic to shimmering, dazzling, mesmerizing iridescence. If you explore some of the other forum topics, you may come across a sprinkling of such wonders, many by Hans who seems to have an uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right moment — with camera in hand! He has shared some illuminations that will just knock your socks off.

Below (pareidolia required!), an albino myrmecophaga tridactyla appears to befriend an iridescent turtle. But it could well be something else entirely….

The idea of “cloudscapes” 0pen to interpretation is very appealing, so thank you, Hygge, for launching this new topic.  At first glance this might look like a storm scene over breaking surf and a promontory point on the far left, but it is all clouds.

Beautiful and mysterious, Hans! I’m curious as well about the blue colors and hope someone will have an explanation for us.

George, your moon shots have a playfulness in their positions. Below, some cloudy characters indulge in a fun sport.

I’ll keep an eye out for your Prancing Horse, Hans. I have no doubt he will show up here.

Michael, your Rayz are a visual meditation. So beautiful.

And George, wow, what a striking image you’ve captured. As for the mystery of Where…?

It might be a slow and solitary vogue for the cacti, but sometimes standing as still as possible is the best way to hear a monsoon serenade. While down below Hans’s patchwork, down in a sea of dreams, another slow dance is underway.
