A lovely Setting Moon and Venus, Hans. There’s a deep, quiet majesty in what you’ve captured there. Below, a halo with an illusory cloud that brings to mind different planet.

Those supernumeraries are fun to see in all their intense glory, Hans, so thank you for posting the enhanced version. And I had to laugh at the vision you offered of a charcoal dusting in your chase of treasure. No doubt many cloudspotters have endured similar fates tramping through muddy bogs and dusty plains in pursuit of the ever ethereal wonders above.

The image below is obviously tweaked with contrast and noise, but I like the otherworldly effect it delivers — like some kind of magical seascape. Wonders above, wonders below.

Love the lightness of color in your image above, Hans!  I took a little trip off the Coast of Cloud recently to the Isles of Iridescence.

Thank you, Hans! Alas, that cloud vase is still empty, although your Red Rim looked promising. Been a while since I’ve seen any serious silver linings here. I must take a lesson instead from my feathered friend in the image below.

Indeed, Hans, it’s been too long a while. But now the beauty of One Approaching Wave signals hope.

Hans, my first thought when I saw your precipitation under Asperitas was that I would gladly be drenched by the oncoming rain to see such a beauty. Then Michael, you make me smile as Arizona Color #53 follows with perfect timing. Refreshing!

French Asperitas is also lovely, Hans, with its bluegrey shades so close to matching those in Michael’s image above it, but this time with horizontal undulations.

And now I see the hues in Arizona Color #9 and Dutch Colour (unnumbered) also perfectly matched! I searched for something similar in archives here, but can come no closer that this one below which has neither the rich blues nor depth of golden hues. Still, it made for a splendid start to the day.

Hans, your contrail shots are truly extraordinary and a great joy to behold — in any shape and every color! Someday I hope to catch something even close to what you’ve shared here or some captivating CVI. That will be a lucky day as it seems so seldom that I spot contrails. When they do appear, I stand very still, gazing upward, waiting to see what will become of them. And sometimes in my peripheral vision, I catch strangers gazing at me and likely wondering…

And congratulations, George, on capturing your first Crow! You renew my own hopes.

Thank you, Hans, for kind thoughts and the link to Gavin’s radio interview which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also, for the lovely cloud which cheered indeed.

The image below includes a bit of ‘noise’ because I like the way it enhances the impressionistic quality, while at the same time adding a touch of softness.

Michael, Arizona Cloudscape #26 is simply stunning. Love the strong composition and movement!

And Hans, well, I’m not going to say what I’m seeing in Even More Chaos because, as you say, once seen cannot be unseen! But I will say that what I do see would explain the source of the chaos you’ve captured— in a very fun and playful, and likely unpredictable way.

And speaking of things unpredictable… Alas, I am very sad to report that due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to attend Gavin’s presentation tonight in Tiburon. It is, of course, a deep disappointment. I took his sage advice, however, and found some solace in gazing up at the late afternoon sky here and tried to keep in mind that everything changes, the tides do turn and there is always, always reason to appreciate whatever is going on if we just know where and how to look.

Ah, such beautiful Black & White images above. Arizona B&W #97 keeps calling me back, Michael. There is something akin to the mysterious depth of renaissance paintings there.

And your One Streak is a beauty unique, Hans.

And did you go spelunking down the chimney, Hans? The rainbow below was barely there and needed some contrast tweaking to show up at all. Oh those bows – sometimes as ethereal as that pot o’gold!

Thank you for kind words, Hans. And talk about heartbeats… mine quicken to know Gavin’s event is tomorrow in Tiburon! What a delight it will be to hear him speak and, hopefully, I’ll have a chance to express gratitude to him in person for all he’s done for so many of us. No doubt it will be a fun coming together of enthusiastic cloud appreciators.

The gathering in your Chaotiscape is one I’d like to attend as well! A fine balance of dark and light with just enough blue to enhance. Lovely. Below, more chaos in celebration.

Lovely and alluring as that subtle iridescence is in you Distant Hills, Hans, I hope you will come back from there. You are much missed in our forum missives!

And Michael, that Arizona Wind is quite the force, n’est-ce pas? We are fortunate that you are there and share the results of its creations here. AM#77 is a layer of labor built to perfection!

The image below, taken on a wild stormy afternoon, has more of that watercolor effect we’ve all seen from time to time. It has a way of stilling my step.
