Not as dramatic, but essentially the same thing, cold air over warmer water. This is over the Hudson river, between Manhattan and New Jersey. The shots are taken from the 25th floor, to give you an idea of how high the fog is. You can see it dissipating over a couple of hours.An asymmetric vertebratus, nicely framed.
I don’t know what to think about contrails. Sometimes when I look at the sky I have a feeling a lot of the cirrus clouds come from contrails. Sometimes it’s nice to have them, sometimes it’s too much.
This is very good advice as I am looking to buy a DLSR. Thank you. And (not to change the subject) as I was looking for cameras with time-lapse, I found this on DPReview:
