      This is a new one for me. Being surrounded by sea, has anyone in the UK heard of this?   (Well, aside from reading about it in the Dailymail?)

      Hi, Lucy. No, not heard of this – I suspect it is a lake effect rather than a sea effect.

      Yes, your suggestion does work – I could copy your link then post it into a Google window.

      IMG_3980Not as dramatic, but essentially the same thing, cold air over warmer water. This is over the Hudson river, between Manhattan and New Jersey. The shots are taken from the 25th floor, to give you an idea of how high the fog is. You can see it dissipating over a couple of hours.
