ParticipantSome absolute beauties on here! I’m so thankful for everyone sharing their sights.
Just before sunrise this morning, this wispy bit floated by what I guess is an upper perihelion and a faint sun pillar, beaming out a crepuscular ray from the other side.

Participanthans, looks like you are teaching an old dog new tricks! and I also love the circumscribed. Something about that double line is just so special.
keelin, I would love to sport that hairdo! very fancy.

Participantexciting return of the halo, Ruth. Every halo day is a holiday!
I had an action packed “haloday” on Friday. First a lovely circumscribed and then a vivid CZA

Participantruth, your moonglow mesmerizes.
i’d guess this was the top of a circumscribed halo/upper tangent arc

Participantruth, i love those luminous lingering lenticular-like lobes!

Participantwow, everyone, thrilling stuff! i love being a cloud nerd
here, we’ve had four CZAs in seven weeks. the sky is smiling at all your cleverly named spottings :)

Participantkeelin, looks like we should bring some dogs over from the other thread to lap up that last drop of butter!
I had a banner day in September. Sun rose in halo, the long arms of the Parhelic circle began to form around the now circumscribed halo at noon, and by sunset we had a full on display, I am overjoyed. Sky was mushy, it’s not overly spectacular, but it’s certainly exciting for me!
If anyone has IDs for all the arcs please let me know. I think I know them, but i’m just a beginner
i can’t seem to upload any pix, but they’re the last seven images on this page:

Participantthanks, hans! i’m getting used to the P circle, but am still unclear on the arcs. but that’s a good idea, i’ll do that :)

Participantwhat a display yesterday! am still reeling with delight.
I have two questions.
Is this a 46° halo or a supralateral arc? and above the upper tangent arc (my first of this shape!), is that faint down-curving line a Parry arc or a 23° upper pyramidal arc?

Participantdelicious smorgasbord here! ruth, i agree with keelin, so glad you caught that creature in time

Participantwow, ramona, what a delight it must’ve been to spot those fantastic fully formed fluctus. i love how the wave curls all the way round.
and hans, thank you.. this makes a total of three KH spotting for me, and counting (hopefully)
