Planet Saturn has a cloud system entity all of its own.

Here in this remarkable image of Saturn taken, at night ,by the marvellous, now defunct, NASA Cassini spacecraft which spent some 13 years in the orbit of the majestic  planet, captured Saturn at night and softly bathed in calming light.

The tumultuous and turbulent clouds encircling “The Planet Queen” are diffuse and hard to discern.  Maybe planets like to have a bit of sleep time like we humans do!

Right!  here it is.  Be enthralled.  The rings are simply breath-taking:-

The image is one of the last before Cassini when coming to the end of its life was directed to plunge, sadly to die, into the depths of the planet.

It is like abstract art! Fantastic. Thanks for sharing Laurence.
