Planet Pluto – it has, for so long, me being a truly amateur astrologer, but nonetheless enthralled by the planets that are within our “small” solar system, that is, compared to other giant solar systems.

I caught up on an image on the NASA APOD page just a few days ago and came across this entrancing image of Pluto, at night, and which was photographed by NASA’s “New Horizons” spacecraft back in July 2015 – seven years ago!

It shows Pluto with a halo of mystical mist cloud.  Image was taken at 21,ooo km – 13,043 miles.  Remarkable.

Here is the image accompanied by a brief but useful explanation plus links to whatever takes your fancy.

Supplementing my earlier posting I received this email from the NASA “New Horizons” website you might be interested to learn about the huge volcanic activity that took place on this truly distant icy cold planet – Pluto.
