Hygge, incredible …
And off-off topic, if you look at the picture where the ship enters the New York Bay …
… you can see the building where I work. It’s right on the water line. About one third from the right, look for a sail boat on the water. Its sail points up to a “smallish” building (18 stories high) practically joined with a taller one (50 stories) behind it. I am steps away from the windows facing the Hudson River on the top floor of the smaller building, from where I took this shot yesterday.
Small world, George. I saw HMS Queen Elizabeth depart from her home port of Portsmouth, UK, my home town (though I live across the county now), not realising she was off to pay her respects to you.
I have said everyone needs a vista. But an office vista like yours is something to envy. A fortiori if a vista includes a topographical feature such as a harbour mouth it puts the icing on the cake. And your cracking photo shows you enjoy it, lucky you. I can’t make out if it is sunrise or sunset; if the horizon is water I guess it is sunrise in the east (New Yorkers do tend to start work early).
P.S. That lower bank of cloud often seems to be to the west of Portsmouth Harbour,
