In response to requests from members, we are planning later this year to enable members to start up ‘Local Chapters’ of the Cloud Appreciation Society. This would be a way for to get together with other cloudspotters in your locality. A Local Chapter might organise a sky walk, put on a event with speakers or just meet for a drink. We plan to help make the organisation of member gatherings as easy as possible.

If you might be interested to start a Local Chapter in your area, we can send you a ‘Starter Pack’ when we make these available later in the year. It will contain materials and ideas to help you set things up. Each Local Chapter will work as a ‘member group’ on our website, and will have its own dedicated part of the Cloud Forum. As a Local Chapter founder, you’d be able to accept other CAS Members’ request to join.

If you think this sounds fun and you’d like to know more, add your email below, and we’ll be in touch as things develop:

Join the list to get a pack about starting a Local Chapter:

I’m a member of The Cloud Appreciation Society and I’d like to hear about starting a Local Chapter when information is available later in the year:

Wow! Looks like this idea’s a runner, Gavin! And I was delighted to see that there’s going to be a Cloud Conference later in the year – it will be great to get to meet some other cloud enthusiasts (aka cloud ‘nuts’) and hopefully some of the regular Forum contributors might be able to attend too.

What an AWESOME Idea, From an AWESOME site. There seems to be quite a lot of “Cloudians” here in the Sierra Nevada’s and I think this would go over quite well, especially here in the Lake Tahoe Area. Count me IN…..
