Saulius Vaitiekunas, member 50,307, shared his new installation “Carrying the Rain” which was created during 2020. He told us “I have developed the topic about clouds for more than three decades, using variety of means and materials of expression, from minimalistic forms in jewelry pieces to spatial kinetic structures in sculptural objects. The illusion of an ephemeral cloud is constantly changing, each time acquiring a different optical effect”. The structure is made of steel pipe and lights and he feels a very important part of this installation is the light and shadows. They outline and dematerialise the heaviness of metal and create a play of shadows on the wall.
